I am asuming your talking about the agitator? Most of these will unscrew with a counter clock wise direction and you can lift it out and check to see what it is that is making the noise. If this is not a top loader then I can't help you I don't know enough about the front loaders to help.

2000 ford f 150 key wont turn in the ignition what do i do

Hi Rebecca, I'm Al the owner of Big As Auto Repair

Rebecca, sometimes the steering wheel can get locked in a position that will not allow you to turn the key. If the steering wheel is straight ahead ignore this first answer. Sometimes the key and tumblers ware out. If this is the case here's something you can try. Take a can of lube and spray right down the key so it enters the lock cylinder, next take something and hit on the end of the key several times then try to turn it. If this works you'll need to get the key and tumbler replaced right away because it will do it again. If you need further assistance go to my auto repair website below. Have an awesome day Rebecca. Ignition wont turn

Hi Tammy, I'm glad to help

I've seen this a lot in Chrysler products. If you have a key and tumbler on the Impala, then here's a way to free it up but this is only temporary it will need to be replace. Take a can of lube and spray into where the key goes then put the key in the ignition and take something and hit on the end of the key while trying to turn it, sometimes this will free it up so you can drive it to the shop. NOTE: This will only work on the old key and tumbler style, if you have a WIN Module it will not work. Call the dealership and give them you VIN number and ask them if you have the Key and Tumbler style ignition or a WIN Module, now they may calls there's something different but if you have the tumbler style then it will work. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Tammy.

How do you remove ignition lock cylinder on a 1973 dodge charger

These older vehicles had a tumbler release pin which needs to be pushed in while key tumbler assy is turned counterclockwise. Look for a small hole in the column, usualy located undernieth where the lock assy is. Insert something small such as a paper clip into the homle after turning the tumbler to the acsesorry position( backwards). push in the paper clip and rotate the lock assy backwards at the same time to release the tumber from the lock assy. and pull the tumbler out.

How do you take out a radio on a 96' century buick?

this is a easy part to replace,, if the tumbler still works and you can start the car ,,, put the key in the tumbler and start the car up ,, this is the position ware the tumbler is ready to come out ,,,, if you look on the bottom steering column bezel there is an access hole in the plastic panel ,, use a pick , or something like a pick to insert it into the hole and push up ,, this will release the lock tumbler pin and you can wiggle the hole key and tumbler out of the steering column ,,,,,see below

zjlimited_166.gif
then put the new tumbler in the same position and depress its pin ,, slide it in the hole and shut the car off ,, this will force the pin out and the tumbler is now in place ..

Good luck.

Is there an easy online guide to changing out the ignition tumbler in a 1992 dodge caravan?

Hi,
First remove the plastic 2 piece shroud around steering column so as to gain access to the housing the tumbler sits in. Find three Phillips screws to remove in holes in the lower piece.
Turn the ignition key to the Run position. Insert a small tip screwdriver in the access hole on the bottom of the housing to push the spring-loaded tab which will free the tumbler so you can simply pull the tumbler out with the key.
Installation is the reverse. Be sure tumbler with key inserted is set to the Run position.
Depress spring-loaded tab, insert tumbler into housing hole with tab down. All the way in,
Turn key to the Lock or turn it off.

Let us know if you want something more else please accept the suggestion.

During the spin cycle, the agitator makes a knocking/clicking sounds. Works good other then that.

If your machine type is a FAV6800AW or FAV9800AW the tumblers or agitator should no rotate in spin cycle maybe a 1/8 turn and no more at the start of spin cycle . If your machine is one of the above machine types maybe you have coins or something under the tumblers. You can remove the tumblers by removing the plastic tumbler caps and with a #20 torx driver. See page 37 for tumbler removal. If your machine type is not the above please disregard my post.

The Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

I have another thought but if you could confirm the machine model number that would be helpful. So many folks post non FAV6800AW machine types in this forum.
Thank you… Rich

Frigidaire dryer hums when button is pushed in but won't start

ok can u turn the tumbler freely,
if no well there is something stuck in you blower like a sock or something
if the tumbler turns freely
keep the door open and hold the door switch
try pushing the start button
and tuning the tumbler, yes all three at the same time lol you may need a hand
try tuning the tumbler when you hear a hum
if it takes off bad news your start winding on the motor is bad or the capacitor depending on your model
if it does not turn, but the hum continues longer than 1-2 minutes it could be just a belt

Electric dryer makes a rumbling when tumbler is turning.

Check the drum bearing, a load noise, and often spinning problems are symptoms of a bad drum bearing. The bearing is at the base of the drum and accessing it is not easy.

You can find diagrams and replacement parts entering model number here.

2005 honda civic ignition tumbler

Take it to a locksmith. You don't want to risk pulling it down yourself especially where the immobiliser harness is concerned, in addition Honda tumblers are really hard to source, the defectives ones will have to be removed. You need an experienced locksmith to do this.
