How do i change bios settings on a laptop that wont let me passed the hdd password

BIOS passwords on a laptop would be especially tricky to override, especially on a laptop, you will have to take the laptop to a service provider for the specified laptop brand, and have them wipe/replace the chip that contains the password. Hope this helps.

Hard disk problem(locked by a password)

Hi Someone has set the hard disk password in the BIOS. This stops the hard disk from being accessed until the password is sent to it. The hard disk itself is now locked - you cannot put it in another system - it will just not work until it receives the correct password. I am sorry but unless you know the password there is no way to access the data on the hard disk. You would have to send it to a data recovery firm or possibly return it to the disk manufacturer but contact them first as they will probably destroy all the data on the hard disk. Sorry - but you will have to buy  new hard disk and reset the CMOS before you fit the new one and remove all BIOS passwords.

Hi ! Ive got Packard Bell Notebook EasyNote GN45 ! I would like to put in bigger hard drive , but i cant take out old one ! Can u tell me how to do this ?

You should an anti static strap. It's available at any hardware store. First turn off unit. Unplug the ac adaptor.

Perform the following steps to remove the battery:
1. Make sure the power is off.
2. Turn the unit upside down.
3. Unlock the left battery lock.
4. Push battery lock on right outward to the release the battery.
5. Slide the battery out.

Now's the time for the strap. In lieu of that touch an unpainted metal part of the case and try to maintain contact. If you lose contact just touch again.

To remove the hard disk drive, then perform the following steps:

1. Remove the screws on the hard disk drive cover and carefully open it.
Cover is on the corner. ( 1" x 3")
2.
Pull out the hard disk drive using the plastic tab.
3. Remove the two screws on both sides of the hard disk drive shield.

That's all there is. Easy right? If you don't have an anti static bag wrap it in some bubble wrap to keep it safe.

Just reverse to put in new hard drive. If this helped you please rate a big 4 fix ya. Thanks. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll get right back to you.
