Question about Mitsubishi WS-55819 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Was given set 2 years ago and recently had it serviced. The tech claims to have fixed the video issue but brought it back and said it was missing the fresnel lens e screen. I googled one up and went to replace it and there was all 3 screens. . Fresnel . Protector . And the other I don't Care to pronounce. Anyhoo after wasting 180 bucks I figured out he had them reversed and wow! A picture. A foggy blended crappy picture. My question is it the r g b,s that ate the culprits or in need of replacement . I'm hesitating to hire someone to sharpen the pic if he's gonna bs me and I could have done it myself. Picture works. Tv works. Picture blurry. Please help. I'm runnin outta options

You should be able to sharpen the picture yourself. most projections if you open them up you can adjust the canisters for color and sharpness. by turning them in a certain direction.

U have a thermal/intermittent issue. Given the age of the set and fact that other areas are now going, I think the cost effective way is to replace the set.

A blue screen will in many sets trigger it to shut off---try unplugging set and or box or receiver if used for a while and plug them back---allow the units to try to reboot.

My Panasonic pt-61lcx35 has red and green spots that look like squares with a + sign inside on the screen. What is the cause and possible fix?

Got the same problem with same TV (PT-61-LCX65) that was bought 4 years go in 2006 - first red spot appeared, then few weeks ago got green one nearby. Fixed it for free.
I called Panasonic using the phone number in the manual (1-888-843-9788), selected Service, told that I got the problem which is most probably "a manufacturer's defect" that should be fixed for free - they redirected me to next step, then to next one and in about 20 minutes they arranged me a home-visit by support person (the guy had to drive 2 hours to get here!). Every thing went _very_ smoothly, I am very satisfied with Panasonic's support, it was just one call with few redirections.
The service guy came in two days, unscrewed back panel, connected some kind of box to one of the boards (eeprom programmer?), turned TV onto some channel and let the box do its job for about 5 minutes - then all of a sudden spots disappeared and picture is OK now. The service guy told me that the overall picture quality should have also improved all across the screen, I guess TV sends some kind of feedback to that box for optimization.
It was free service, the service guy mentioned something about law action and that Panasonic is required to fix that for free.

Solid black stripe down the left side of my TH-42PZ80U...I called service and they said to hold the Volume all the way down and then press menu at the same time to go into "Self Check" mode...It did...

Hold it all day it wont fix it!.Are you sure a Panasonic tech said this?

the problem is an IC chip that is faulty.
The only other possibility is that if you moved the TV recently you may have twisted or jolted one of the ribbon cables loose.

The last problem can be fixed by checking the ribbon cables are all on firmly when you open the panel up.
The first suggestion requires a return for service. If the unit is under warranty claim it now.

Please rate our help to keep the FREE service onlime++++Thanks for using FIXYA

Wii takes in disk and then ejects it automatically.

Your disc is stuck in Wii Console, It needs to eject manually. You might check out Wii Fix Guide, that gives step by step information on Dis-Assembling with screenshots, even a novice can fix the disc eject problem with the help of this DIY Guide. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

call panasonic customer service....open a claim....problem is most likely that the eprom needs to be reflashed.....i contacted them several weeks ago, told them my problem which was 5 baseball sized colored spots, 1 red, 2 blue and 2 green. they had me perform a couple of tests using a dvd. when i reported the results they set up a service call with a local authorized repair shop. results were amazing. reflashing the eprom took about 4-6 minutes. in addition my brilliant color returned to the set as well as another problem of neon images going away. this was paid for by panasonic. my set was 2 years over warranty. panasonic has issued a service bulletin on this and are backing up these units.
pt-61lcx35
hope this helps, i am quite satisfied with what was done.

Send it back ASAP and get a replacement! I'm serious. You wouldn't want to baby sit this lemon by missing work because you're waiting for a home service tech provided by the company. When the tech comes, he will not have the part required to fix the unit and you'll be waiting at least a week to get another service call. That's another day missing work. You are one lucky guy if the servicer can totally fix the unit to your satisfaction in two visits. Days missed at work could very well add up into buying a new TV. Do not take ownership of this problematic unit especially if you just bought it. Send it back!

Hi jamz.
I see this is a pretty ancient posting so you've probably fixed it or given up by now.
I also own a CA-350 Amp which I purchased many years ago here in Auckland NZ.
I've recently had it in bits to fix so if you're still looking for a solution I may be able to offer you some help.
If so, you can contact me at martymarvel@hotmail.com
