I can't get my to start up

When you plug in the power cord is there any lightswhatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of thepower cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear theDvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for asecond or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, butthe screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problemis with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and takenote of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoeverwhen you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you wasoperating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cordis bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the powercord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove theBattery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the batteryout) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can putthe battery back in and let it charge.Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugsinto the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside thejack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have totake the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto themotherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Dell Inspiron 6000 powers up, caps lock flashes 9 times, then laptop shut down. Why???

Unplug power cord from laptop, remove battery from laptop. Open memory access panel on the bottom of the laptop. Remove memory module(s) (SO-DIMM). Plug power cord back into laptop. Turn laptop on (with the memory removed), the caps lock and scroll lock LEDs light, then the laptop shuts itself off. Unplug power cord from the laptop. Reinstall the memory modules. Make sure they are seated correctly. Put the battery back in, plug the laptop back in, and power on. Laptop should power on and boot up properly.
May need to hold the power button down to get it to power on properly.

My p4 hp compaq is blinking green light insted of stand still green light

Does it power up at all? It could be due to the power-saving features putting it in stand-by. Is it the power LED or HDD LED?

I recently was given a Baby Lock Esante ESi-2 from my grandmother. She just gave me the machine. I dont have a manual or anything but the petal and power cord. I dont know what i need to run it or even how...

AT LEAST you have the petal and power cord - I had to order that from a place in online at sew4less.com - the foot petal was 49.95 and the cord was 14.95. I see a slot in the side of mine and it's for a memory card - those are 119....

Error when turned on, "Memory card error"

if it is an SD or SDC card the check the cord for a lock on the upper left side. This will prevent a lot of functions.

Motherboard asus p4vp-mx

Do you have a video card installed or are you using the built-in video? If yes, check the video card if it is installed in the motherboard firmly, first unplug the power cord in the power supply then try removing the card then install it again in the agp slot carefully pushing it firmly, then put the power cord back to the power supply and try to power it on. Does it have a display now?

If the video is still blank try reinstalling the memory module in the motherboard, first turn the pc off then unplug the power cord, next remove the memory modules from the motherboard by simultaneously pushing locks on each side of the memory, then use a clean paint brush to remove any dust on the memory modules copper contacts and also clean the memory slots in the motherboard, then install the memory back to the slot making sure to match the notch near the middle of the memory to the memory slot in the motherboard, and also make sure that the locks on each side is firm. Then connect the power cord to the power supply then turn it on. Does it have a display now?

In the condition where your using the built in video and a known working memory and still there is no display, the motherboard could be defective already.
