Hi,

I would like to connect a polycom but only have access to a 3G data card for internet connectivity. Will this work? Do I need to assign an IP address? etc. I have a polycom v500.

No, i don't think si. The polycom needs an ethernet connection to a router. You might get this working by putting the 3g card into a PC and enabling connection sharing, however even if you got it work itsd a bad solution in terms of:
- Cost
- Reliability
- Security.
ADSL would be better.

I CANNOT CONNECT TO INTERNET SERVICES IN MY CELLPHONE

You need 2 things for that:
- Your operator has activated the DATA services on your account. You need to have a DATA plan (either if you are using a prepaid card or normal subscription). -> Just call your operator and ask him to activate the DATA in your account (of course ask for the pricing for these as well)
- Your mobile settings are correct.
-> If your phone has 3G or HSPA, you can to activate it by going to the settings and allowing 3G or HSPA (or GPRS: older) traffic to go through.
- If you want to connect through Wifi, you have to make appropriate settings (e.g. setting the APN: Access Point Name), enabling wifi, connecting to the wifi spot, e.t.c.

I have a 5 month old HTC Wildfire. I don't have access to WiFi and most often use Vodafone Mobile Connect to connect to the Internet. Suddenly, since the day before yesterday, whenever I'm trying...

Seems like your phone is functioning correctly.

You have disabled wi-fi so it is asking whether you wish to use Phone Data Connection instead. (Standard Practice when trying to access data services)

What you need to do is un-tick the option in options Use only 2g networks. (3g is the mobile data service) That should then allow you to access Mobile Data. (3g)

Also enable data enabled

What is 3G?

Hi there. 3G is the network your phone is on. Your carrier (like Orange, or AT&T) provides the 3G network for your phone to connect to. What 3G means is that you have a signal from your phone with an active voice and data connection. 3G is faster than the old EDGE network, but slower than the most current 4G networks. Basically, as long as you have the 3G logo on your phone (with a capital G) you have access to the internet and applications that need data to function will work. I hope that helps! Alex

When i connect my 3g card is not instoling its self to the pc so that i will be able to conect to the inter net but the light on the 3g card is on to show that the 3g card is connected

If you are not able to connect with Internet while you have connect the 3G data card there is mainly some reasons as follows :-

1. 3G data card must insert in high speed USB slot [the front USB slot may be not good]

2. The recharge for GPRS or 3G in Nil.

3. The software for the Data card is not properly installed.

4. Connection Profile is not defined.

5. Last reason is Generic Host win 32 problem. {Use GHremover}

Good Luck !

* I am using MicroMax 3G data card. In starting I also face some problem, but now it is working fine.

Internet not connecting.

Yes the 3G unit would need to be "enabled" and on for it to work. Could be a number of things, but if it is the 3G connection that is your concern, since you are paying your cellular provider for access, take it to their store, and they should be able to get you set right up. Especially considering if you cant access the web,, you have no real need to pay them.

Device manager will show you the ststus of your device, right click "my computer" and click manage.

CANT CONNECT TO INTERNET ON LAPTOP VIA SAMSUNS STAR S5233A

Hi,

For connecting to laptop and using internet needs ACTIVE GPRS/3G connection. If you doesn't have this please call the net work provider to make it active.

After that you need to create an data account in the data communication settings. Otherwise you can ask the provider to send it to you according to your mobile model.
Install that and restart your mobile.
Connect it to your Laptop and create a network connection.
You have to dial a number there to connect to the provider. Dial the number and connect.
Now you can browse the internet using mobile.

Thanks

Connecting my PS3 to the internet using a 3G Verizon Broadband

Unfortunately the PS3 will not be recieving internet through this device, the USB connectors are set up to only work with PC or MAC specifically for that reason that gamers cannot use their Xbox or Playstation, and that is because Verizon offers a Wireless router cell phone data device which costs almost a thousand dollars, definately not worth it.

Connecting my Laptop to the internet in France

Alternative to using a dial-up modem via the telecom system is to connect via an internet service provider. If this is your home, then you will need to have either DSL or cable piped in via a provider (either the French telecom company or another "ISP"). This service is usually considered "broadband" and is faster than dial-up modelm. If the place is managed by someone else, ask ahead if they have wireless or ethernet (wired) internet service. Your laptop likely has the connector for wired ethernet service, but check if it has wireless capability. If it doesn't you will need to purchase a wireless NIC. These are available in USB and PC-Card formats depending on what you have. A final resort if the choices above do not work, is to get a PC-Card 3G data network card. These are 3G telecom modems that plug right into your laptop. They will come with a monthly access charge similar to a 3G cellular phone (uses the same network). But, it is very important that you check that there is service in the locale that you are going to use it in. These work well for remote locations, but again, you must check coverage first.
