My overlocker is jammed with the needles in the down position - I have not used it for a while and hve just oiled and cleaned it.


Oh man.

Not sure how to get it unjammed but I know that if overlockers/sergers aren't threaded properly they can jam up like that. The last time that happened to me... broken looper.

Open up the front and start clipping threads... Gently rock the hand wheel to see if it loosens as you get thread released.

Honestly I suspect that your machine has locked up because it's been knocked out of time. If you still have problems take it in and have it serviced.

On what should the tension be set to overlock cotton. It looks like at the back of the material that the cotton is somewhat loose and uneven


If the back thread is loose, loosen the tension on the top thread until the thread interlocks in the center of the fabric.
