Question about Garmin StreetPilot c310 GPS Receiver

3 Answers

Hi. I have a Garmin C310 and recently it has been giving me the following error "Route Waypoint Memory Full". When I try to delete some of my waypoints the device hangs and I need to reset it. I have formatted the SD card and reloaded my maps without the waypoints but they are still on the GPS and I can't seem to delete them. Is there a way to clear the GPS completely? And reset it to factory defaults? Please assist. Thanks. Grant

    Hi, I know how to reset it like this, I have done it each time it hangs up - which is when I try to delete a waypoint, it does reset the device but my original problem still exists. I cannot delete any waypoints on the device and I continue to get "Route Waypoint Memory Full" or "Memory Full". I need to know how to clear the device memory completely (as if it were new). Formatting my SD card didn't help - it must keep some info in memory or something. Regards. Grant.

    Hi. I have a C310 Streetpilot, not a Nuvi. Nothing happens when I touch the lower left-hand corner of the touch screen. Is there a way to do this on the Streetpilot?

    No, no luck. (I have pressed all over the screen while powering up). If I hold the power button in for about 10sec it goes into a screen calibration, but that is all. Any other suggestions? Regards. Grant.

    I already had 6.10 loaded but I downloaded and reloaded it again anyway, but still no joy. If I try to add a new waypoint it gives me a "database error" and if I select a destination and press "go" it gives me the "Route Waypoint Memory Full" error. There definately seems to be some corruption in the database, what I need to do is delete everything and reload. That Maintenance mode you referred to sounds like it will do the trick - we just need to find out how to do that on the Streetpilot c310. Thanks. Grant.

    Will do. Thanks for your assistance.

    Thanks, but I no longer have the GPS. I took it to a local distributer and when they couldn't fix it I traded it in for a new one. Thanks for your assistance. Grant.

There should be a place (perhaps under your settings) that allows you to restore system settings. I'm thinking this might clear out the memory. Worth a try. I don't have your particular model, but that is how I interpret the controls on mine. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_c3e3efc5dc054ac3a06d2216254a22c4(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

Hi,

You will need to open Maintenance Mode by pressing the lower left-hand corner of the touch screen while unit is being turned on.

2. When the "Do you really want to start up in maintenance mode?" prompts, press the "Yes" button. (It is now okay to release the lower left-hand screen).

3. Log on password if necessary.

4. Press the "Clear user data".

5. When the "Do you really want to erase all user data?" prompts, press the "Yes" button.

6. Nuvi restarts.

This should resolve your problem. If so please remember to accept this solution or it will credit to the previous expert!

    Ah. Sorry about that!

    For the streetpilot you ahould be able to access this menu by pressing the touch screen at the right bottom of the screen then power on the unit and answer YES to the 'clear user data' request.

    This should work but the C310 is one I am not overly familiar with. Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks.

    If you do not already have the latest firmware update follow the link I have provided. The latest version is 6.10 which amongst other things resolved an issue where map data was overlapping and causing problems. As this appears to be a data management issue it should help to update the unit to the latest firmware which can be accessed here;
    http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_...

    If you have not downloaded firmware to the unit before you will need to follow these instructions;

    Installation Instructions
    1.Download the self-extracting archive file for your Streetpilot c310 onto your hard drive.
    2.Connect your Streetpilot c310 to a free USB port on your PC with the correct PC interface cable.
    3.Unzip the files in the archive by running the downloaded executable file.
    4.Follow the instructions provided by the launched update application on your computer.

    Let me know if it helps.

    Unfortunately it looks like this unit will have to back to Garmin. The data is corrupt or the memory is faulty and there is no obvious way of clearing it or accessing the maintenance menu on the C310.

    The only other thing I can suggest is to contact Garmin Support directly and inform them that the problem only occured after you installed the latest firmware update and their update bricked your unit. (That is the way it happened right?!!) See if they will stand over it or offer you a solution or method to clear the problem.

    Garmin support can be found here;

Cannot Calculate the route - Garmin Nuvi 3760

My probleme:

When you want to select (established) a route (Finding Location or Planing a Trip) the device machine can not calculate route and displays the following message: "Route waypoint memory is full". The device is Garmin 3760T.

I found the solution:

1. Start the device.

2. Touch "Wiew Map or Map"

3. Touch on bottom right of screen (Speed)

4. Hold your finger on top center of screen for 5-10 seconds (the speed semicircle between Trip A and Trip B). The unit would go into "Diagnostic Page".

5. Select "Clear all user data" and confirm.

Warning: will erase all user-selected data (Home, Recently Found, Favorites, Trip Planner, ....).

Garmin will not navigate .It keeps coming up with Route waypoint full

Try resetting everything. The first step is to Start the GPS unit, while it is starting (when the screen turns on) hold your finger in the lower left corner. It will then prompt you to open in maint. mode. Select yes, and go through the menus by selecting next. When a third option is shownsuch as reset, select it. Reset everything including deleting your saved addresses, you will loose all of your saved info but it should start working again.

Nuvi 660 not working

1-Check if you have 500 waypoints, Thats the maximum.

Be sure you delete the recents search via the menu. the recent use when you did a search for a place or adress, just delete.

2- could you confirm both of you if you did not add any other maps into the units ?

3- How many MP3 you have into the GARMIN files ?

Need this to answer your question properly ?

It should not happen if you did not overload the unit 660.

Everything has a maximum who is published by the manufacturer.

Best regards

Memory full is being displayed when i try to go to a new destination and when i try to delete a favourite the unit turns off.

Garmin nuvi 610 T
memory full was being displayed on screen whilst on destination ,sometimes followed by route waypoint memory full .

I found by turning unit off , then holding finger on top left of screen ,and at the same time turning back on again the unit would go into maintenance mode.
Follow prompts on screen to reset waypoint memory.
Mine works as good as gold now,hope this helps!
