DVD plays in black and white

I have a sony DAV-DZ 270 home theatre. The cables are connected correctly, but all the dvd's play in black and white only. Doth TV and DVD is set on PAL

    Still black and white. TV and DVD set to auto. Are there other possibilities? Home tehatre system only 2 weeks old. ThanX

    Before this TV and DVD is produce colored movie.Try your dvd to input another tv if the picture is black and white and do this also in tv.As i diagnose your problem i see that only the setting of system compatiblelity you cannot set exactly.,because your unit is 2 weeks old.As i sure to you only the system only .

Sony Model DAV ? SB 500W Home Theatre System
Please check at rear of TV for Digital Optical IN port as home theater should have optical out port at rear. If you got any optical in port in TV, just connect optical wire between TV and home theater.

2nd option is check Line Out pins at rear of home theater system, if found, hook red-white RCA cable there and put it to same input in TV where you hooked Video (composite or component) cable.

Can I connect External HDD to my SONY DAV DZ 270
Hi,
You can connect external HDD to dz270... BUT you can only play audio & photos through it. It's the limitation of dz270, you can't play video through USB.
dz270 cant recognize NTFS filesytem, do a FAT32 partition of 200GB or so.
I bought 500GB seagate free agent ... but i couldn't use it with my dz270 to play movies :-). I could have gone for dz290 :-(
