I came across this in a manual
-Without CableCARDTM : Illuminates red in
standby mode, Illuminates green when the
TV is turned on.
-Inserting the CableCARDTM : Illuminates
orange in standby mode, Illuminates green
when the TV is turned on.... You might want to check your cable card. It seems to mimic your problem. Try taking the card out and gently clean, with a dry cloth, the contacts/strip. Then take some "canned air" and blow out the card socket from the side to dislodge any accumulated debris.
most plasma tv have two power botton, ha main power which is mostly located at the lower side of the tv, and the sub power/standby power botton located in the top of the tv.. check if there is red, orange and green light on power led indecator. other wise there is problem with you power supply.... you may call qualified technician.
I guess your TV is DLP.
Please notice the follow symthoms:
When you on TV, did you hear some strange noise from the back of the TV. If yes, the color wheel needs replacing.
If no, check the lamp. Take a look to bottom of lamp, you will see white pot or sometime a pop up there due to lamp cycle is going to end. When changing lamp, check the ballast and power sup, too. If you see caps are poping up. Pull out those board and replace the poped caps.
