Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

thanks for the buick help, as for your sony, google tv repair or problems for your your
exact model and there will be a bunch of sites with parts and so on. most of the
time it is the power supply or/and the capacitors that go! if you are savy with that
stuff, you can fix it! thanks again!

Indicates a problem with the high voltage circuit. You could try unplugging the power cord, plug it back in and try again. If that doesn't work unplug the power cord again but leave unplugged for at least five hours and try again. Still doesn't work find a local repair shop that works on sony tvs and have them fix it for you.

Hi:
This is a problem with the D-Board, or deflection board as we call it, there are two Ic's that needs replacing that has failed. They are power controller Ic's on the deflection board.

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

This could be a couple of issue.
1) Power supply problem.
2) This is a CRT rear screen so it could be a High Voltage issue. Possibly a faulty HOT 'High output Transistor' that supplies the high voltage to the CRT's.
Good to get it into a trusted service shop.

Both diodes are on G board (power supply) and its shown in below picture...

Service Manual of KDP-57WS655 says if TV standby light blinks 9 times then problem is Zero Corssing Detector and you need to replace diodes, D6116 or D6301 which are open on G Board.

No the DLP units can flash more than 8 times. 9 blinks mean Zero Crossing detector which means diode number D6166 or D6114 is open they are on the A board.Let me know if you need any further info.
