could be valve needs set. if it isn't opening at the right time it wont release compression for it to start. it may be the shear key in the flywheel has sheared if you have hit something like a big rock or log or something causing it to die suddenly.

Cannot pull cord/ pulls easy when spark plug is out. Cannot detect fuel at spark plug, seems to be no spark. Had been using it without problem, then shut it off for a bit, now this.

Usually if you cannot pull cord with the Plug in it is because there is way too much fuel in the cylinder and that causes Hydralock. Does the cord pull at all? Something in the cylinder bumping up against the plug?

Yard man pull cord will not pull

Remove spark plug and see if you can spin the blade . If the motor spins than the pull cord assembly is seized up and needs to looked at and fixed. If the blade won't spin then the motor or the cord assembly is seized . Make sure you remove the spark plug before trying to spin the blade.

U tube chainsaw pull cord wont pull start

Some saws with autotmatic oiling will leak bar oil into the cylinder and cause this. Pull out the spark plug and hold the saw so the oil runs out of the spark plug hole. Pull the starter cord till no more oil sprays out of the hole.Clean the oil off the plug and start your saw. It will smoke more than normal till the extra oil is burned out.

YOU have told me to reattach the pull cord 3 different times.

Laying the spark plug against the cylinder head is not an ideal way to check for spark. The best way is with a tool designed specifically to check for spark available at most auto parts stores. Remove the spark plug from the engine. One end of the tool plugs into the plug wire the other end is a clamp and gets clipped to cooling fins or another good ground on the motor. Pull the cord and you will be able to see and hear the spark.

wow! That is pretty funny. lets check this out again. Take off the spark plug lead and then get a plug socket and remove the plug. Now reconnect the plug to the plug lead and set it on top the engine to ground it and pull the cord. If it has spark you should be able to see it. And leave the cord alone! ha ha!

Also, look at the plug when you pull it and see if it is wet with fuel or water. A lot of these small engines have gotten fussy about fuel and one bad tank will ruin your season!
