Actual weight is detected by a pressure transducer which may have failed. The constantly changing readout indicates there may be a problem with the internal circuitry.

How do I change the batteries on my WW60X? I can't find my manual but was able to open the battery cover to get the number for the batteries. Now I can't get the batteries out of the scales. ...

Your Instruction Manual is here:

Battery Replacement Instructions

1. Turn over the scale and open the battery door. (Push ribbed switch and pull up)
2. Replace old batteries with two new 3V Lithium batteries (CR2032).
3. Close battery door.
4. Properly dispose of old batteries.

There is nothing holding the batteries in place once the battery door is opened. If the batteries are difficult to remove, use a small screwdriver to gently pry up on the battery or simply after opening battery door invert the scale and shake.

I have a Thinner glass/brass round bathroom scale and I cannot find the battery location. I purchased this about 10 years ago from Frontgate but they couldn't help me. Can you?

I have a 10 year old Thinner bathroom scales also. Apparently the manufacturer designed it to make battery replacement hard so you'd buy a new scales. To replace the battery, if your unit is similar to mine, turn it over, remove all the screws and separate the top and bottom. You'll see the glass window that shows the weight. It is held in place by four tabs that are slightly twisted. Straighten them, lift the glass assembly clear without straining the wires, and turn it over to reveal the round black battery case. It is secured by three small screws and clear epoxy. Remove the epoxy with a knife blade, remove the screws, and separate the two halves of the case on one side being careful not to separate the other side where there is a metal connection piece. Using the knife tip, remove the CR2032 battery and replace it with a new one (available at Radio Shack or similar stores). Reassemble in reverse order; no need to replace epoxy. My scales worked fine after that.

Looking for a battery for a conair gmt180 trimmer.

My local BatteriesPlus store assembled a custom equivalent battery with a slightly higher capacity. I didn't know they offered this free service, took the guy about 5 minutes. Because the OEM battery is soldered onto the board they didn't install it but I did it myself.

The numbers on the digital readout are partly

If the display is showing "partial digits" on the display, it means a scale is excessively shaken (sometimes during shipping) it's possible for the LCD to become partially separated from the PCB (Printed Circuit Board). On many models you can gently press on the LCD and it will reconnect. However on many scales it's difficult to reach the LCD (without removing the cover) and thus the scale will often have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair. I didn't pay attention to which way the battery was facing when I removed it. The replacement battery packaging says that it might explode if put in backwards. Further confusing the issue is the big + sign...

There isn't any definition yet to recognize which side of battery is front and which one is back, so, whatever you'll say will be OK.
In your case you are naming +signed side as a backside. This side (+) must face watch's caseback. That means; when you open the watch and look in to it - you see the backside of the battery and see the + sign & Energizer 3V.

Replace battery

OK, I just (11/29/09) replaced the battery on Conair TH301S glass scale. You will need a CR2032 (3V) battery, a small (P12) phillips screwdriver, a flat screwdriver and a small twiser (to hold small screws).
On a stable and clean surface (kitchen table, no kids around due to small screws) lay flat upside down the scale.
1) Remove all 6 phillips screws that hold the inner frame.
2) With the help of the flat screw driver unhoock each side of the inner frame (horse shoe shape)
3) Open slowly because there are 2 wires that connect the weight sensors and lay flat on the side.
4) There is an eletrical circuit beside the display, it is being held by 5 very small phillips screws (remove them)
5) The you will find underneath a small round black box held by 3 phillips screws. Remove them, open slowly the top cover and inside reside the battery, pop it up gently with the flat screw driver.
6) Replace the battery, reinstall the 3 screws.
7) Where the display stand, remove the 4 screws of the plastic cover. Slowly remove the cover and the LCD display itself (pay attention on how the display is installed).
8) Re install the circuit board with the 5 smaller screws
9) With a QTips and alcohol clean the contacts of the circuit board where the LCD dispaly sits. Sit in place the LCD display (it will touch the circuit from above) .
10) Place the plastic cover with the 4 screws.
11) re install the frame and put the 6 screws.
12) YOU HAVE DONE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Problem changing battery for Conair Thinner Scale TH300

My scale is an older model, "can't locate model# in or outside" sticker on back plate is RH697. Scale was purposely setup so that no one can change the battery but a tech. Back plate had no instruct as to where battery is and the 4 small phillips screws were covered with rubber filler. I scraped off the rubber filler and opened it up, inside was a computer board which I took out (6 tiny phillip screws) to get to the battery (it was the expected 3V) the battery was front and back soldered in. That was enough for me, this company is nothing but a bandit forcing you to a tech (est. cost 45-60$) or to make another purchase. True piracy, I'm throwing it out. Make sure when buying anything that runs on batteries that the product offers ease of replacement, I am disgusted with Thinner.
