Hi dear

try this

  1. Before you attempt to use any Wi-Fi network, find out what the SSID, Channel, Mode and WEP key are. Some Wi-Fi locations do not require a WEP key. Many Wi-Fi providers have this information on their web site or when you purchase access you will be provided the information.
  2. Ensure you have a firewall program installed and running. This will protect your data.
  3. Start up your laptop and once booted, look for the Wi-Fi network icon in the bottom right of the screen.
  4. Click on the Wifi Connection icon on bottom right of screen and you should see a window that indicates connection, strength and duration. Click on the Properties tab.

  5. Wireless Home Network with 2wire modem - wirelessnetworkscreenbl.jpg

  6. The next window will show the type of networking card installed. Click on the Wireless Networks tab.

  7. 02ee437.jpg

  8. Once the Wireless Network Connection Properties window is open you will have two options depending on how you set up your laptop.
    • If you do not see any networks listed in Preferred or Available networks, you will have to manually add the SSID. Click on Add. You will have to enter the SSID and WEP key (if required). Click OK and you should then see the network you just added in the Available netwWireless Home Network with 2wire modem - 4d25eb5.jpgli>
      4d25eb5.jpg

    • If you see the correct SSID showing in the Available Networks, then you need to click on Configure in ordWireless Home Network with 2wire modem - 92752af.jpg the WEP key if that is required.

    92752af.jpg

  9. In the next window, enter the SSID for the Wi-Fi network you want to access. Make sure you do not have CAPS lock or NUM lock while entering the information. If a network key is required, click on "Data Encryption and then enter the Network key you have been provided with. Again make sure you do not have CAPS or NUM lock on. Click OK when entered. If you havWireless Home Network with 2wire modem - fccfda9.jpghe key incorrectly a message will pop up and you will need to re-enter the key.

  10. fccfda9.jpg

  11. Next go to Start - and where it says Connect To cWireless Home Network with 2wire modem - 34b0a7b.jpgt and you should see choices like in the graphic below. Click on Wireless Network Connection and it should work.

34b0a7b.jpg

There are occasions when the connection doesn't work, in these cases check your firewall software and make sure it allows you to connect to the Wi-Fi network. To check this, disable your firewall software and check the connection again. If you can connect with the firewall program disabled, you change your settings. If your firewall program is not the problem check the SSID and WEP key information that you entered. Both of these are case sensitive. If you had obtained SSID information from the Internet, check with someone in the establishment to see if the SSID has been changed.

oke post in me back

i hope this usefull for you

thanks

The network appliance you're asking about is a modem with a wireless router built in. Basically, it's an all-in-one device. It will replace your already existing modem. It is a wise upgrade for any AT&T DSL connection.

Can the HP Pavilion 763n PC Desktop use a wireless router?

Your computer has a "built-in" 10/100BT network connection integrated on the motherboard but to go wireless you'll have to add either a PCI (internal) or USB (external) wireless network adapter to transmit/receive the signal from your wireless router. Think "walkie-talkie" here with the wireless router installed AFTER the modem (phone line outlet needed) located in a central area of your home and transmitting/receiving to the individual wireless network adapters that must be separately installed in each computer.

How do I set up a home network without internet?

Hi

By default, your wireless connection for your 2wire 1000HW is enabled.Assuming that everything is installed properly in your laptop ie wireless cards etc. than you can view your wireless connection using Dell Wireless connection tool and HP wireless tool. Your know its your network when it says 2wirexxxx {x=combined numbers}. To locate the built-in, 10-digit wireless encryption key for your system, please look at the bottom of the product [2wire] near the bar code label - looks like this : [xxxxxxxxxx].

If you want to access the 2wire Graphic Unit Interface ,you can access it by opening your browser and on your address bar type in homeportal- assuming you are able to connect to your 2wire wirelessly. You can view your network and change you wireless settings. This may also help you :

http://shastademo.2wire.com/rgw3-3/rgw/3-3/homeportal/network/wireless_settings.html

To connect your printer you must have a Print Server [ dep[ends on what model of laserjet you are using } and connected to your printer. Again you will need the encryption key to get it running. You must share your printer on each laptop by going to control panel and share it . In there you willl have the chance to change and modify the settings. You can also use the Windows File and Sharing Wizard. to get it both running.

Hope that would help you a bit. Pls feel free to post your questions in Fixya for further assistance.

Wish you all the best.

Cheers.
