Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Hadn't used my Pixma ip1500 for a while. Cleaned heads etc still wouldn't print. Bought some new Canon cartridges and some head cleaning cartidges. Followed the instructions, i.e. deep clean cycle x5. Colour is wonderful but the black looks 'stripy'. I've tried re-aligning the heads, but none of the black boxes appear 'whole', all of the boxes are 'patchy'. Is this the end of my printer?

I get error message D53 for my IP1500 indicating that I have a print head problem. Does this mean that the cartridges are all plugged up? If so, how do I clean them?

The print head is no the cartridges. You may be able to do a head cleaning by right clicking on the printer then hitting properties. Under one of the tabs should be ahead cleaning test

Printer will not print, fine last time i used it switched of the computor, when i wanted to print next time it just will not print, tried test print without sucsess

You're cartridges have dried out and/or you print head has blocked.

I'd try new cartridges and use the printer toolbox to clean the print head. You printer toolbox would have been installed when you installed you printer. I'd click on Start - All Programmes and look for Canon.

Canon Pixma ip1500, bought new ink, cleaned print heads with alcohol, still not printing

Did you buy factory new Canon cartridges or third party cartridges.

If you are using factory new Canon ink, call Canon about their defective ink.

If you are using anything else, want to bet there is no such thing as a warranty.

If using aftermarket inks you sometimes have to rap them on a paper towel to break an air lock.If you see ink coming out after rapping them try to print again. If nothing comes out you may have a bad print head or purge pump.
Try cleaning the head (without cartridges)in a 10-20% ammonia warm water mixture for 30-45 min.
Completely dry the head before returning it to printer.

Hi, Just replaced colour and black ink cartidges ( both new not refills)in our pixma ip1500. We have done all the maintenance but it seems like no ink is coming through. Every print is very pale, and...

Do not throw it away. It has taken you so much cost ok?. Print blank can be caused by:
  • Purge unit is faulty cannot **** ink from ink cartridge
  • Print head is faulty
  • Logic board is faulty
In some cases short circuitry in print head can cause this problem. Please be careful of this. Replacing print head can damage new print head. I suggest you to bring the printer to nearest service center.

I hope this will be useful for you and please your rating

Printer head ip 1500

Printhead is dead, and here Canon gotcha because a printhead for ip1500 is more expensive as the whole printer.
So kiss your printer good bye and get a new one, but at least this time get one that uses cartridges with printhead ON THE CARTRIDGE (like HP and Lexmark) or, if you are in love with Canon, take one that uses the cartridges PGI-5 for black and CLI-8 for color, they also have sepparate printhead from cartridge but it seams they are more durable. And easy to refill, as well!

Hope it helped you in any way!

Rate this solution please. Thx.
