Question about GE Ovens

My GE Electric oven is not heating fast or getting upto full temperature. Model No. J BP76G V2WW

Your model has a thermostat composed from two parts. One is the temperature probe part no 248 Sensor kit
Part Number: AP2023913 made by GE

And the electronic control which is one part with electronic control board part no 16, To8c, Electronic control - Wiring instructions are not included if new part does not match wiring a appliance repair person may be needed.
Part Number: AP2632445 made by GE

We suggest first to replace the probe which is the 80% potential suspect for malfunction and a cheaper part and only if your problem insists you need to replace the electronic board.

Hello there:
This is a fairly common problem with these ovens normally what happens is that you will notice that the temperature will not come up to the proper temp or it takes a long time to heat up
This is caused by the thermostate either being damaged or faulty and not reading the proper temperature inputs from the controle panel so what i would do is to have the thermostate either checked out by a repair man or replace it ti will look like one of these

This indicates a failure in the temperature probe. This is easy to check and replace. Here is a link that will walk you thru checking and replacing an oven Temperature Sensor .If you need diagrams and illustrations of your specific model enter your model their. Normally this is due to a bad temperature sensor F3 Open oven temperature sensor circuit Measure oven temperature sensor circuit at oven temperature sensor (should be approx 1100 ohms at room temp); check for cut or pinched wire or loss of contact and replace if found faulty

Lower and Upper ovens not heating


they have a thermal fuse in them that blows if too much heat builds up in them they have an improved blower moter thermal fuze kit for them i suppect thats the promblem contact ge for improved kit and inst ins
