SOURCE: When I light my Coleman Catalytic Heater, it burns

The wick isnt drawing up any fuel? Does this heater have a primer?

Could the wick be sitting above the fuel inside the tank?

You might just try changing wicks and restarting.

Why does my Ryobi stop and then smell like its burning?

The Burning Smell Could Be Caused By Too Much Oil In The mix. Make sure that the air filter is not restricted, also the carburetor may be running the fuel air ratio too rich... may have to be leaned out...

There should be a H and an L needle on the carburetor, these are your adjustment needles.

Go on you tube to see a video on how to adjust a 2 cycle carburetor. That is if your unit is 2 and not a 4 stroke.

Search " how to adjust a 2 cycle carburetor" u will seemail many videos on the subject and at the same time u will get a visual on how.

In the long run, learning that procedure will save u alot of $$$$ on future small engine repairs.

Oil level rise on dipstick

Black smoke is either a rich running carburetor or oil is being burned. Most carburetors are adjustable. Try adjusting any screws for best run. Oil burning and level could be a plugged crank case breather (cleanable), bad rings or valve. Good luck with this one.

Can the burner inlet air be adjusted on a coleman DFAA066BBTA oil fired furnace ? if so how do i set it ?

Sure can. To do it properly, you should perform a smoke test after each adjustment. This requires a special tool. This may be why noone has answered your question yet. There is a band on the left side of the burner that can be opened to allow more air in. The flame should be bright orange/yellow. And again, perform a smoke test after you adjust it.

Coleman 6250 generator runs rough

Fresh fuel? Does carburetor have adjustable jets? Turn the high speed jet (at bottom of float bowl) about 1/4 to1/2 CCW (looking at bottom of bowl). If no improvement, carburetor should be torn apart and cleaned. This also applies if there are no adjustable jets. Is there a fuel filter anywhere?
