Question about LG LFC25760ST 25 Cu. Ft. Panorama French Door Refrigerator w/ Glide N' Serve Drawer & Internal LED T...

My LFD23860ST refrigerator has been making noise from what seems a motor for a few days...did not think much of it, but now there is no such noise and the control panel show ERR FF.... I read on this site that this refers to the fan motor does this mean that the fan motor has failed or is the fact that it made a noise like something was touching the blades mean that it is repairable (ie maybe a loose part or ??) also, does it mean my fridge has stopped refrigerating? since this is a friday before the weekend I may not get help until monday and have to salvage the stored items..HELP! ps...this fridge is just one and one half year old

Even my LG is having the same trouble. When I press the freezer rear wall slightly, I can hear a loud sound and the sound level goes down when I stop pressing. This is where the fan is. The fan's bearing is gone. Please have it changed. Nothing serious so far but please take action before it becomes serious.

Do you think it is the fan in the freezer or could it be the water valve when the icemaker is filling?

Loud running motor

I think its best you replace the fan, its probably at the end of its life and starting to make more and more noise. This happens alot in computers if the fans are poor quality.

Fridge motor, I think, is making death rattle noises and the alarm keeps going off every few days

ck the cond fan as this is a very common problem . if its going to slow cooling will be poor and alarm will keep going off . / also dirty cond coils will cause poor cooling but not the noise .. mm

Howling noise from freezer fan, GE side-by-side

Replace the fan, Remove the evaporator cover in the back of freezer, and probably another cover for the fan. Unplug your refer first. Usually their are two screws holding the fan bracket to the wall or mount. disconnect the wires, and replace. Their is a newer model evap fan motor that does not have wiring terminals to disconnect, it is hard wired together and you have to practically remove everything in the freezer compartment to get at it. You have to cut wiring and splice the new fan motor in. Fairly tough job. Usually an evaporator fan motor bearing fails from the refer being moved or in storage for a few days at least with the doors closed and the unit unplugged. This allows all that moisture that was in the freezer to get into the metal parts of the fan motor and cause this problem. To prevent this always block the doors open if your refer is going to be off for a few days. This will allow the unit to dry out without damage. Sometimes it was just a bad motor from the factory. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Whirlpool side by side, clicking noise, strange smell from bottom

The clicking is from your compressor relay on the side of the compressor it has eather went bad or a condenser fan motor is not running this will cause the walls to be warm if the fan is running in the back try cleaning the coils hope this helps

Rattling in freezer

The noise is most likley coming from on of the fan motors. My guess is the condensor fan motor which is on the back of the fridge at the bottom. You will need to take the back off and see if the blade is hitting something or the housing for the fan is loose. The vibration from that fan may even cause the drain pan to rattle. If the noise is coming from inside the freezer then it is the evaporator fan motor and would likely have some ice buildup around the blade for to make noise. Will have to take the grill off in the center top of the panel in the freezer to inspect this fan. There is little tab in the middle of that grill that you push up on and pop the bottom loose then pry on one side with a screwdriver, pushing inward and pull out for the grill to come off. Let me know what you find.
