The best way to keep your drivers up-to-date is a weekly scan of your computer. DriverMax Free Edition can be downloaded at cnet.com. The only problem with the free edition is that it only allows 2 driver updates per 24 hours.
If you are considering purchasing (or using a torrent, which I would not know anything about) driver update software then go with Driver Genius Profession Edition. It is well worth the money.

Nathan has taken a lot of time to gather those drivers for you. Thank you Nathan! If you run into any issues that a regular Windows Update does not resolve, tryhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/. A search there "as specific as possible" should lead you to your problems solution or a similar one that will lead you in the correct direction. Please understand that some information is technical and depending on your skill and IT knowledge "if you can't grasp the information" them post your question here and include the solution from Technet. It may help speed up the responses from fellow Fixya users. Best of luck and thank you Nathan for your time running down all those drivers!

No sound from my computer, I cannot seem to get the audio drivers downloaded to make it work. Can you recommend any sites to go to? I have windows XP

Hello the first step is to identify your sound card.

The best way is to first look at the back of the computer and check to see if you have a sound card or if one is integrated into your motherboard.

An integrated sound card will have its connections within an inch or so of where you plug your keyboard or mouse.into the main board

A sound card will take up an expansion slot down towards the bottom of the case usually where your modem or network card are.

The next step is to go to your computers manufacturers website and find out what type of sound card shipped with your model. Many times they will even provide the drivers for download.

If drivers or info are not available from the computer manufacturer then submit a help ticket to them asking for the model of the motherboard or of the sound card that way you can go to that manufacturers website and download drivers there.

If you have the original software that came with the computer you may have the drivers on the disc you used to reload windows. Look for a directory labels
drvers or cabs.

As a last resort Google the model number of your computer hopefully somewhere out there is a reference to what is included with your model.

Also try posting your brand and model maybe someone here has the info available.

Had to reload Windows XP, but could not find PCI and sound drivers. I used the driver CD but would not work?

How did you reload Windows XP? Did you use the recovery CD shipped with the computer from the manufacturer, or did you use a Windows XP CD?

If your computer had Windows XP preinstalled on it and you are not using the manufacturer's restore CD, you will have to go to the manufacturer's website and download drivers from there, if they are available.

I have Emachine 2002 model W4682 problem with all

You should have gotton a cd with the orginal drivers with you machine. They may also be hidden on you machine.

Remember that the maker of your machine is gateway. I suggest calling them if you have no luck with the emachine division. The company called Acer is the parent company of all of them. That should help. Emachine is not the bst cmpany outthere when it comes to customer service. What is not working correct on your machne??

Reloading XP on dc 5100 hp compaq

Mice don't normally need a driver unless you wish to assign special buttons and clicks, assuming your mouse is a PS2 connection, try a USB one instead, that should work.
