Question about Canon PIXMA MP460 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My Canon MP460 printer is stating "the following print cartridge can not be recognized" -- referring to catridge b (black cartridge). I have installed the appropriate catridge - Can PG 40. I have installed and reinstalled and still have no idea what is going on. Tremendously frustrating

Have you tried a different black cartridge. It sounds like the chip on the cartridge is defective.

Hp4355 print catridge error

Each cartridge having printing life, as long as cartridge health condition is good it won't gives any trouble. Subjected series printer having mono & colour cartridges,1. Remove both cartridge from the printer 2. Switch on & wait till message appears for insert the cartridges..3. Insert mono(Black) cartridge, close the door & wait till message appears on screen. If message appears same as cartridge error mean that mono cartridge is faulty replace it, if message appears like insert another cartridge, it's confirmed that colour cartridge faulty.. Replace it..

Every time I turn my Canon mp460 on, it comes up with this code U140 - The following in cartridge can not be reconized B. It is preventing me from printing.

Well.. seems like you are using PG40 or PG50..(black) CL41 or CL51 for your printer.

Pls unplug the power first....before taking out the cartridge.

And then, try to wipe out the cartridge socket part..gentely.

And try back.

If you used refilled cartridge for your printer.. especially "color one", you may have to change your cartridge with brand new..

That's what it happens to Canon printer and there is no other solution for it.

How can I get the Canon MP460 to print in black and white only?

what you'll need to do is just refill the color cartridge.
you may not need to use it, but refill it to prevent it from drying out and not being able to work. That is because for the printer to work both cartridges need to be in working order.

Printer won't recognize ink cartridges. How to align heads????

try to restart your printer by long press atleast 40 sec. at power button..and while the printer is off..wipe the tab circuit of the carrier with a cloth and alcohol and also the tab circuit of the printhead.. unload and load the catridge..on the printer..and ON it again..

if the problem still persist..
try to replace your cartridge maybe the circuit on the cartidge has been damage...that's why the printer don't recognize the printhead's..

thanks for choosing FIXYA..
