There is an access panel on the bottom of the laptop remove that and just insert the stick of ram. Make sure that you are grounded when holding the ram as you can shock it with static electricity.
If you need further assistance don't hesitate.
Thank you,

A COMPUTER STORE CONFIRMED THAT THE MOTHER BOARD IN MY ACER EXTENSA 5420 IS FRIED AND THAT THIS PROUBLEM IS FREQUENT IN THIS TYPE OF LAPTOP. WHAT WOULD BE THE RANGE OF A NEW BOARD AND IS IT DIFFICULT TO...

installing a new motherboard for a laptop is no easy task for a experienced hardware technician much less a novice. as the motherboard is dead, I'll suggest to pull out the HDD, memory, dvd drive, etc.. .and purchase a new one.
you can get a disk caddy to extract the data on your old hdd to copy across to the new laptop, so the data you may need is intact.
not what you want to hear, but I hope it helps .. good luck

Wheres the ram?

RAM modules must be installed in special locations on the motherboard called Sockets. These memory sockets are what hold the RAM module in place and can range from 1 to 16 or more. Banks consist of a group of 1 or more sockets. A system can have 1 or more of these banks of sockets. If a system has more than 1 socket in a bank, a Kit must be purchased for that bank. A kit is simply more than one, usually 2 or 4, like RAM modules. All sockets in a bank must be filled. Typically you will see 2x512MB or 2x256MB signifying you get 2 units of 512MB RAM modules or 2 units of 256MB RAM modules, respectively.
The Toshiba Satellite A40-S270 has 2 bank(s) which have 1 socket(s) in each bank for a total of 2 memory socket(s). This means the Satellite A40-S270 can support up to 2 individual RAM modules.
Below is a visual representation of the memory bank(s) and socket(s) configuration for the Toshiba Satellite A40-S270.
socket_1.gifsocket_1.gif This graphical representation above details what the memory configuration would look like with the maximum memory installed and does not necessarily model your system memory configuration. This graphical representation is not drawn to scale and should only be used as a general reference. Please consult your system’s user manual for your actual memory configuration.

I need to add RAM to my Toshiba Satellite M55-S3262 notebook, can I do this myself or do I need a authorized service technician?

If you can access the memory module by removing some of the screws at the back of your laptop, you can easily add RAM if there are vacant slots for another RAM in the RAM slot. Ideally, the RAM should be of the same memory capacity as the original RAM installed in your laptop. Just handle the RAM module at the edges so you don't damage the sensitive components. You can avoid this by discharging static electricity from your body by placing your hands on a grounded object.

Toshiba power saver fatal error 0xb7

Okay I don't know if this will work for you, but bear with me, cause this is what I did and it fixed my fatal error.

First Download System Mechanic (theres a 30 day free trial you can use for the time being)
After it's done downloading and you've installed it. Do a deep Analysis of your system, and some errors will come up. Have the program fix them for you (if there are some you don't want to fix just hide them, and if your unsure about them, just go ahead and fix them). After this restart your computer whether or not the system mechanic asks. If after a restart it still gives you an error, download the latest version of the toshiba power saver which is currently 7.08.05. I have a toshiba U205 so there wasn't a specific one for mine, so I downloaded the Toshiba Satellite R20-ST4113 Power Saver Utility 7.08.05 Windows X.

Which still worked for my system since it's an XP. If yours is a vista, I recommending finding one for vista.

After this again restart your computer to see if it helped. I hope it helped with your problem. If not i'm sorry I couldn't give anymore advice.

How do i install new memory in my Toshiba satellite A215-s4757

Remove the small vented cover on the bottom of the laptop. Gently pull on the small metal clips on each side of the memory module. It should spring up to about a 45 degree angle. Remove the old memory module and replace it with the new one. Make sure the small metal tabs snap into the small grooves on each side of the memory module.

there should be a small panel on the back of the laptop that you have to unscrew and you should see another stick sitting in there install it the same way as the other one. The ram should only fit one way, make sure your don't jam or force the stick in there! it should fit perfectly and hear a snap sounds when its in all the way

The wireless in my toshiba satellite u205-s5034 just stopped working on day and i cant figure out how to fix it

Pacey2169: First think I need to ask is, is the wires hard wired or are you using a card? If you are using a card, pull out the card and take flash light and look in the slot to see if there is loose paper or any substance blocking the connection. If there is, use a plastic probe and try to get it out. use canned air if possible. If wireless is hard wired go into setting and check what your setup is. Also try to reinstall drivers if possible.
