We receive more complaints on this scope than any other brand. You never said which model you own? Is it a refractor or a reflector style???

Read this page and look at the pictures. Notice a refractor has a lens in the front and the eyepiece in the back.

The reflector has MIRRORS and the focuser end is on the UP end of the telescope-- the mirror is the BOTTOM of the telescope.

I have the whole telescope assemble except I'm having trouble with the lense and eye piece. I have the 78-9970 refractor scope and I don't understand where to put the 4mm lense (and the other...

Put the diagonal into the rear focuser-- then put the eyepiece into the diagonal. DO NOT use the 2 x barlow if you have one. AND the 4mm may also be too much magnification for this size telescope.

So-- put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the diagonal and practice focusing on a distant object during the daytime. DO NOT POINT the scope at the sun! You will be instantly blinded!

View finder displays are upsidedown

Telescopes generally will display images upside-down, due to the way the image is magnified. On many telescopes, the eyepiece is removable, and can be exchanged with many different attachments and lenses. One of which being an image rectifier (or image flipper), which flips the image back to normal. Unfortunately these lenses can be pretty expensive, and will reduce the amount of light being passed through the telescope due to the addition of more lenses, so are only primarily used for day terrestrial viewing. Hope this helps.

I have an older model meade etx astro telescope i see nothing but black when looking through my telescope..the lense cover is off...the mirror is in the up position like it should be....its nothing but...

Can you see Light through it during the day time? If you can nothing is wrong. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the TOP and try focusing on a distant object during the day time.

Turn the focus knob until you get a sharp image.

I cant see through eye piece . i can see thrugh until i put a lense in it? then its just black? but if i take lense out ans aim telescope i can see then i dut lense in and it goes black again

Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Go outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object. TURN THE FOCUS KNOB until the image comes into focus.

If your scope is similar to the one in the picture above the FOCUSER end is the UP end of the tube--

Why did you REMOVE the front lens? If you took the 2 lenses out we cannot tell you which way they go?

My 9t eye piece was rattling and mislined. I took it apart cleaned lenses and wondered is there a lense location or direction?

Never disassemble an eyepiece unless you know exactly how to put it back together. Only the outer glass lens ever needs cleaning.

Without knowing exactly what link of eyepiece you have (they are all different designs) it's impossible to tell you which way the internal lenses go.

Your best bet may be to simply purchase another eyepiece.

Cannot see through lense

A telescope only shows about 1 degree or LESS of sky-- this about the size of the tip of your finger held at arms length! Point it at the moon and practice focusing the telescope.

Can't get images

These are good scopes for the bucks.
What size eyepiece in mm do you have. What are you aiming the scope at? Try your largest eyepiece in mm at the moon.
