Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video
E02 error on your Alpine means (generally) dirty or scratched media.
It means - it cannot read the data on the disc.
It CAN mean any of the following....
Bad burn/copy of disc
Improperly adjusted laser - requires an alignment
Dirty Laser Lense (smokers will experience this more often)
Since it is happening with different types of media, the latter are the most likely culprits.
There is nothing you can do as an end-user. It must be taken to an authorized Alpine service center. Alpine will not sell parts (if needed) to non-authorized repair shops.
Typically - they will require a small deposit ($25 or so) to crack the unit open and check the laser operation and gauge the laser. They will put together a quote and let you know the price before fixing.... and the deposit comes off the final bill.
If it is working and needs to be cleaned/adjusted - look at a bill around $50 (less the deposit).
Don't waste your $$ on CD lense cleaners - they do not work!
