Question about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

GWL11; at first wasn't draining, would stop spinning w/ load and wouldn't advance to spin cycle. Removed load, drained water, used shop vac to clear hoses of any potential debris, socks, whatever. Cleaned everything up, re-installed barrel, put everything back together and now I have no power to the washer whatsoever.

Frigidaire Affinity Front Load Washer wont drain.

If your pump had something in it, it wouldn't have had to clog it, but rather just stopped the internal spinning. My coworker removed a dollar bill from his water pump, and it fixed the problem he was having (same as you've described) and the water pump worked well after it was re-installed.
Worst case scenario, you reinstall it and it doesn't drain and you spend 40 or 50 bucks online for the part. I would reinstall and see if it works. I'd bet on it.

Will not spin or drain

typical problem for front load washer is that it stops when it comes to a rinse or spin cycle.there is something blocking the drain pump.in order to drain all the water out of the washer the best way is to use a wet dry shop vac.
attach the vaccum to the end of the drain hose and remove all the water.
once the water is removed the door should unlock.then you can access the drain pump from either the front or rear panel depending on the model you have.some models will have a access panel on the front to check to drain pump however if you do not see anything in the pump.
then the obstruction is in the part of the drain hose that leads from the bottom of the tub into the drain pump.if there is no obstruction found then you need to check the wiring and make sure it is securely attach.
last thing when all else fails replace the drain pump

Washer was on last cycle, rinse and spin, and the load was out of ballance. I stopped and got cloths out, and now it will not correctly fgo into any cycle. example, I tried the drain and spin cycle and the...

If you have a wet dry shop vac you can attach it to the end of the drain hose an try to remove the water.
If the water comes out easy then you may not have much restricting the flow but if it comes out slow then there is some piece of clothing or something blockinng the pump.
Once the water is gone you will need to look at the drain pump remove the hose from the pump and look for obstructions in the hoses or the pump it self and make sure there is nothing stopping the impellar wheel.
if this is a front load machine there is also a chance that door lock mechanism has failed when it reaches the rinse cycle.make sure to check the wiring to the drain pump.
be sure to remove the hose from the bottom of the wash tub and look for obsstructions and check the coin trap in the drain boot.

Maytag MLE2000AYW not draining

When you removed that clog after the pump you should have gotten very very wet if that was the only clog.
You will have to bail the water out of the tub or pull it out with a shop vac,and even then when you remove the other side of the hose on the pump you'll get a couple gallons of water coming at you, throw some towels over the motor control on the right front corner so it doesn't get wet and have more ready for the gush of water coming out.
Throw rugs were notorious for clogging these hoses up also check the out going hose from the pump to the drain,if you have the heavy rubber hose run something through it to make sure it is cleared out.
and if it was throw rugs your going to want to fill it and drain it several times when you get it draining again to make sure it is all cleared out of the machine,if it drains into a standpipe be careful it doesn't clog your pipes that stuff is like cement.

Stops before rinse cycle... won't drain or spin.

The REGULAR CYCLE button turns the drain pump on or off. The REGULAR LED will turn
on when the pump is on. This feature can be used to drain the tub. You could get a bucket and lay the hose on the fllor. Gravity will drain it down.

Loud Clicking noise only for the first 30-40 seconds of spin cycle.

You may have something caught in the pump impeller. I have found nails, screws, drill bits, paper clips and other small items that some how make their way past the wash tub and into the drain line. I would inspect the drain pump. Remove as much water as you can. Using a wet/dry shop vac to pull water through the drain hose is the best way to drain all residual water from the pump and drain lines. Remove the inlet line first and inspect the pump impeller. Chances are, you have something stuck causing the impeller to rub against it. If this has gone on too long, you may have some damage to the pump. I hope this is helpful to you.
