Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a model 2375LE Wild Thing. I rebuilt the carburetor and replaced the fuel lines. The primer bulb is extremely hard to push now and the saw will only run for a few seconds at a time. The small line on the primer goes directly into the tank. The larger line is attached to the lower side of the carb. The other line with the filter in the tank is attached to the upper right nipple. Do I have the larger lines reversed?

Hello,

Yes you have the lines crossed, This is an easy fix.

The Line with the filter goes to the primer, and the line coming from the primer to the brass upper fitting on the carburetor, then the lower plastic fitting goes back to the tank.

Hope this helps

Poulan chain saw model #2025 - fuel lines dry rotted and disintegrated. There are 3 fuel lines: l from gas tank and 2 from primer button but only 2 fuel ports on the carb. What goes where and how?

You should have 2 to the tank, the one with filter coming from tank goes to nipple on right side of carb, the nipple on left side by primer bulb goes to primer bulb and other from primer bulb back to tank as return line, how it should work is when you push primer bulb it pulls fuel from tank through carb and back to tank on return line so watch in tank orleave one line out that you think is return line and see if gas comes out when you prime, but remember it goes through the carb first before it goes back to tank, had a pic but too big to put on site sorry, 2StrokeJim

Trying to put back together a poulan chainsaw and cannot figure out where the tubes go into the carborator

The line from the tank that has the filter on it's end is the main feed to the carburetor and goes to the upper port on the carburetor. The lower port on the carburetor goes to the primer bulb which is supposed to pull fuel from the filter to the carburetor and out to the primer, then it outputs excess fuel back into the tank. When the lines are connected correctly and fuel in the tank, pump the primer--it should begin to fill the bulb with fuel after several pumps. Usually, the primer ports are found by trial and error until it works. Hope this helps!

Fuel hosesgot mixed up on wild thing-18

The long line in the back of the tank that holds the fuel filter (which you need to check for plugging) goes to a fitting under the top of the tank. The upper side of this fitting goes to the upper port on the carburetor. The lower port on the carburetor goes to the primer bulb. Remove the other line from the primer and leave loose. Hook the line from the carburetor onto either port on the primer and attempt to draw fuel though the carburetor (pump up to 6 times). If nothing, move the line to the other port and repeat the pumping process. If nothing, check the bulb for hardness, cracking, or holes. It must pump fuel with one of the two connections. Once you have found the correct port on the primer, then attach the open line to the other primer port. Hope this helps!

I have a poulan 2450 chainsaw and i can't get the primer bulb to **** any gas, the bulb is in good condition however there is gas leaking out of the gas cap in the center of it, do I need a new gas cap and...

You may be overfilling the tank somewhat so that expanding fuel (from engine heat) is being pushed out of the vent. Check the fuel filter for plugging and all of the fuel lines for any rot, splitting, or other damage. The primer bulb is supposed to pull fuel from the fuel filter, then through the carburetor and on to the primer which should push the excess back into the tank through another line. If the above does not allow the primer to pump fuel, then dismantle the carburetor, clean with carburetor spray cleaner, and rekit it. Go to: http://www.drystacked.com for a 12 page article on Walbro brand carburetors--theory and troubleshooting. This information applies to most brands of carburetor. Hope this gets you running!

A Poulan IPL for your saw “2375LE Gas Saw Type?” (LE is code for WildThing; if your saw is beyond serial -2 look at a saw without the LE; it makes little difference to the fuel system) can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

  • Small hose (filter on bottom) long enough to reach all corners inside tank, to lower carburetor connection. Please leave the 2 carburetor connections long enough to reverse until the saw is running.
  • Upper carburetor connection, small hose to suction side of primer.
  • Pressure side of primer (large hose) to tank fitting.
The IPL is deceptive it appears the filtered hose connects to the primer; it does not.

A typical fuel system and suggestion or 2 follow:

How do I hook up a fuel line to a carbuertor on a Poulan 18 inch?

  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer bulb, an output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill as it inflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns displaced fuel to the tank as it is depressed.
Take lots of notes and a few digital photographs to help with reassembly.

The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but on multiple illustrations.
