Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T3 Digital Camera

2 Answers

The display screen shows images very distorted like it is too bright and the image "runs" it's really strange. Almost like when you look at a heart beat monitor and it "spikes". I knocked the camera off my desk while trying to charge it, and I am afraid I might have messed up the lens or something. The image is clear when looking at the settings, but the display is very distorted.

Your camera model is one of a number of cameras that had defective CCD imager's installed. These CCD's were produced by Sony and installed in multiple brands of cameras. There was a time when Sony would have repaired this problem for your for free, but has since stopped this offer. Canon, on the other hand is still repairing this problem for free for a number of their cameras that had the Sony CCD installed. If you contact Sony and make this argument, who knows, you may get lucky. If not, remember to consider Canon for your next camera purchase ;-)

Hi,
This is common problem of ccd imager chip failure in DSC-T3 camera, ccd imager chip replacement will fix this problem and you will get correct live view image in camera mode.
Please check with local camera repair shop for ccd image chip replacement as it is not user level repair and camera will take apart in detail.
Thanks.

The lcd screen distorts & my pictures show up pink on the display screen on my ixus 500

If the menus and icons look normal, but images are distorted or discolored, you may have an image sensor (CCD) problem. See Canon's service notice regarding this issue here. Canon will repair your camera at no cost regardless of warranty. Contact them at your regional Canon service agency.
