SOURCE: Our oven's heating elements will not come on althought the display seems to work correctly.

Wekiwa, your TCO, (thermal cutout) probably opened during the high temps in self clean. You will have to remove the back panel and replace it. It should be just under the vent back there. Part number 4450934. You can ohm it out first to make sure, it will show open (no continuity) if bad. This is an easy job, won't take you that long. Kill power to the range before going back there. In doing a little more research on your model, I see there was a service flash where they recomend moving the TCO over to one side so the cleaning cycle doesn't affect the TCO. This may be covered by Whirlpool. You might want to call them and inquire. Catriver..post back.

Sounds like a thermal overload has opened up during clean. It may be mounted on the back.

You may have a blown thermal fuse in series with the heating elements. If the oven exceeded the maximum allowable temperature during self-clean, the fuse will open. See this discussion:

    No power after self cleaning

Nothing Works, or the Oven / Range / Stovetop Works Only At Certain Times:
1.Home breaker flipped or the fuse blown?Possibly an electrical surge has flipped the breaker. Check your breaker or fuse box and replace or reset as necessary.
2.Power cord plugged in?Grab the plug and wiggle to determine a good connection.
3.Power cord damage?Damaged rubber with wires showing through or the wire is being pinched can cause issues. Electrical tape is acceptable for covering damaged wires.
4.Aclicking sound could be something wrong with a relay. Check for any loose connections around the main control board on your oven. The click you hear is a relay losing power and switching back on. If the clock resets then something is causing power interruptions to the board.
    5.
6.Even a bad relay door switch will hinder your oven from operating.

If your oven has internal fuses, a wiring or component problem could have caused a fuse to blow. A blown fuse is an indication that a component has shorted or failed, and the problem will need to be corrected. Most ovens that use fuses will have an indication of the circuits that are affected by a particular fuse. If an oven fuse has blown, then you should inspect the oven element and the associated wiring to determine the cause before replacing the fuse.

I have a diplomat fan oven. I repalced the fan element about six months ago. everything worked fine, however in the past couple of weeks the motor has been running slowly and erratically. now something has...

Sounds like the fan motor has failed altogether, and as a result the oven element has probably blown again due to overheating of the element.A ew fan and element is more than likely going to be needed to correct the problem.

You need to establish if it is the element that has failed or the control switch, usually it is the element(s)

All elements cease to work after self clean

If the electronic control is blank then an inline fuse to the control has blown due to overheating in the area of the controls. If the controls are visable but nothing in the way of high voltage works then that is the limits in the rear of the ovens.

Self cleaning oven won't unlock after cycle is complete

Unplug it for about 30 minutes, plug it back in and see if it unlocks. If not, then the latch, interlocking microswitch or control board is faulty. Also look for any bad connections (make suer the power is off before you start wiggling connections).

You are right, it could be a thermostat or a heater problem. You should check that the heater element receive power. In case it receive power, the heater element should be replaced. In case it doesn't receive power, the problem is with the thermostat. In any case, check as well that all wires connected to the thermostat and the heater are in place. Good luck.
