Hi,

freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

The best temperature for the freezer section is in the range of 0 F to -10 F. Ice cream will remain somewhat mushy at temperatures above about 5 F or so. Actually ice cream never does totally freeze due to the fat content.... it does get hard but does not totally freeze. Now ice on the other hand will freeze solid at 32 F , as you well know, the colder the faster it will freeze.

I have a saniserv 707a and the product won't freeze. The refrig line is freezing right after compressor switch.

Ice cream is soupy & when I freeze it it becomes icy


Freeze the bowl for at least 24 hrs, rather than the 12 hrs the manual suggests - it will make all the difference in the world. For really thick ice cream, freeze the bowl for a day, and then put the ingredients in the freezer until the outer rim becomes frozen. Very delicious!

Ice Cream not freezing


Yes, they stop working sometimes. Same thing happened to me.
The Cuisinart ICE-20 bowl is precisely the same, and works with the Krups 337. You can buy the Cuisinart bowl separately. It costs nearly as much as the whole machine, but what can you do.

Kenmore refrigidaire, bottom freezer


It depends somewhat on the quality of ice cream. Some brands freeze easier than others. One reason is cheaper brands have more sweetener/sugar in them.
I think if your freezer is freezing water into ice cubes, it should freeze ice cream of good quality.
Try putting the ice cream where the ice cube tray is and verify ;this.

Ice cream has ice crystals in it


Ice crystals are more prevalent in homemade ice cream because it takes longer to freeze the mix. When you can flash-freeze the ice cream to very low temperatures very quickly, there is less time for the molecules to melt and refreeze, which causes crystal formation.

Here are some of the useful tips:
1.) When the ice cream is done, transfer to the coldest part of the freezer as quickly as possible
2.) Pre-freeze the ice cream bowl before using, and pre-freeze the storage container before putting the ice cream in it and into the freezer
3.) Make sure the mix is very cold before using the machine. Maybe put the mix in the freezer for 15 minutes before starting the machine, so that it will finish faster
