Question about E-Machines T6524 PC Desktop

Open Question

Wavy screen began to show up slowly and then as the puter warmed up, screen got normal. One fine day wavy screen stayed forever. Tried everything, driver update did'nt work, final decision: Onboard graphics card must be toast. Bought Sapphire Radeon HD5450 since puter meets or exceeds min requirements. Disabled old card in device manager. Went into BIOS, changed from onboard graphics to PCI express slot. Installed graphics card. On boot fans speed up and I get no screen and no boot, (yes I switched the VGA monitor plug into the new card). Scratch head....should of worked but it won't. A dozen times later no success. Only works with onboard card. Maybe update mobo BIOS?? Much googling and no info except mobo, (MSI MS-7184 wont support since BIOS is custom made for Emachines). No BIOS update available from Emachines either, (but will tech support for $149.99 an hour, sleaze balls)! No not PSU either swapped out with new one I stored and same issue arises. Found other case with same exact issue on Toms hardware but no responses. This puter was marketed with PCexpress upgrade slot but it dont work! Please help....anybody??

Open up the front of the set by removing the speaker screen and the black piece of particle board. on the bottom right you will see 4 knobs. Turn those knobs slowly till the arcs go away. The 3 knobs on the bottom are for color. the 3 on top are for the focus.

Coffe does not stay hot in carafe

The wavy lines indicate the carafe pre-heat function. When it is ON the red light blinks for several minutes and the goes on solid. It doesn't start brewing until the light is solid red.
Mine also doesn't seem to keep hot also.

Wavy screen

Try using a different refresh rate. I've found that when you change it down to 60 hertz that the issue usually goes away.

There is a Hyper Module mounted right behind the video inputs board. in most cases you can replace the 10uf surface mounts carefully not to tear the foil. and the set will return to normal. or replace the H/M board. this board is soldered 4 tabs on bottom of main board and then pulls out. good luck list of caps cz52(may not have this cap).. cx261 cx270 cx230 cx178 c514 cx221 cx250 cx241 cx541 cx670

Wavy Screen on Startup

I gather from your post that wavy can mean two possible things as the TV comes on, you see the picture flow like ocean waves? In this case you may have 60Hz hum modulating with the picture, this is actually unlikely these days, but I have heard it happens sometimes. The other thing it could be is light horizontal tearing. This happens when the horizontal frequency is too high or too low. You are not going to like my solution because I feel that for problems like this the set must be analyzed not just subjected to "shotgun troubleshooting", so here I go, Take the TV to a repair shop.
