Hi, I have a Flash USB drive with 16Gb, but its saying it's full but it has nothing on it. I want to transfer a 4.3Gb movie onto it but it's saying not enough space. I've reformatted it to FAT32 but still not working?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Why does 2gb pendrive show 1.8 gb free space available even at the time we buy it..?

The remaining .2GB are allocated for the drive's drivers and file system settings which are all inaccessable from the user level.

When I format my 2gb sandisk cruzer I only have 1.85gb left.

This is normal. Formatting a drive uses up some of the space to hold a 'Table of Contents' that points to where your files are located. Feels like you're being robbed, but it's just how things are.

There isnt really a limit of the number of files, but there is a limit on space.

If you go into "my computer"(windows xp) or "computer" (windows vista/7)
and right click on the icon for your SanDisk. Choose properties, and it should give you a nice pie graph to show your free space.

If there is free space left, then it is safe to say that there is something else going on.

If not, you are out of space!

Cheers!

I've forgotten how to transfer spreadsheets from my computer to my flash drive (been a long time since I used it!) Probably need a new one for more space - how can I tell?

right click on the drive select properties will tell you how much free space is on your drive
click start all programs open windows explorer navigate to the spreadsheets the select the spreadsheets right click copy and then paste them into your cruzer usb or select all spreadsheets click and hold the cursor and drag and drop them into cruzer or right click and select send to cruzer
hope this helps

The thing to check is to make sure you empty the recycle bin on the computer that you used to delete the file. Once you do this it should free up the space.
