Question about Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook

Internet connection i have a dell E1505 laptop and i am trying to connect to the internet through its internal wifi. i have a Westell Versalink model 327w with bellsouth. My laptop keeps saying that i have a bad connection. what do i do.

Here's How:

  1. Click the Start menu button on the Windows taskbar.

  2. Click Run... on this menu.

  3. If the computer is holding a current IP address, type 'cmd' (without the quotes) in the text box that appears. A command prompt window appears on the screen.

  4. Type 'ipconfig' (without the quotes) to view the status of the computer's IP address(es).

  5. If the computer is holding a current IP address, type 'ipconfig /release' to let go of the address.

  6. Type 'ipconfig /renew' to obtain a new IP address (whether or not the computer is holding a current address).
Tips:
  1. If it is not necessary to view the current IP addresses on a computer, simply type 'ipconfig /release' or 'ipconfig /renew' (without the quotes) in the text box that appears in Step 3.

  2. To bring a computer back onto the network after moving it to a different location, or experiencing an unexpected outage, first release, then renew the IP address. Computers on DHCP networks often (but not always) re-establish network connectivity automatically.

your westell is a modem/router which means you can hook up more computers wirelessly.
yes, if you're using a laptop make sure it has a wireless card and for desktop computer..you have to have a wireless adapter...

connect router to pc with network cable and enter in your browser the ip adres
you wil see setup from router
go to wirles part and select enable save settings and try to connect again with the wifi

Westell 327 router not connecting to my new Dell Laptop


So you having problem issue on the wireless router?

Try this:
1. See the icons on the down-right.
2. There'll icon with wireless connection.
3. Try to refresh it, and you'll detect you Westell router.
4. Click it twice, and you'll get connected to your wireless router.

Can connect only one computer at a time over westell 327W modem


Try this, go to network connections, right click on your connection, click on properties, where it says this connection uses the following items, scroll down to internet protocol, highlight it then click on properties below it, make sure Obtain IP address automatically is checked. do this on both computers. Lost wireless connection on laptop


That means your wi-fi adapter is turned off, and you'll just need to turn it on. Normally, you can simply press Fn and F2 at the same time to turn on the wifi capability of your laptop. Otherwise, consult the manual on how to turn on the wifi.

if you are using the USB port of the modem, you should be able to see your modem while you are online, but if you are connect through ETHeRNET, you wont be able to see the modem on your device manager.

Wireless connect


Call your ISP and demand a DSL tech visit. It sounds like either you do not have the correct password in your gateway to allow for access OR you have your computers wireless connection trned off. On my dell, i use Intel pro wireless set to connect. Your ISP's csr support should be able to get this up and running for you.
