LG Monitor L194WT - Indicator Lights Flashing

Today when I return to my computer when monitor has been in SLEEP mode, the power indicator light is flashing blue, at two different speeds. After I wiggle the mouse and hit keyboard keys it comes back to life. It comes back as a black screen with FLATRON WIDE, then the actual image appears with the word ANALOG in the upper right.

I cannot find the flashing light problem in the online user manual on the LG site.

Just concerned that it's on its way to crashing....

Any ideas? And thanks

Now second day of problem. Monitor on-off switch doesn't appear to be working, and screen only comes back to life when I hard boot the computer.

    Thanks.

    Update:

When monitor goes to sleep, the power lights flash oddly ... purple and blue, in two different rhythms. At that time, monitor's on/off switch doesn't respond. (On/off switch DOES respond when monitor is working (solid blue light) or in power save (yellow light). When lights are flashing, monitor also does not come back on when mouse is wiggled and keys hit.

If I attempt a hard boot (did it just once) the monitor came back.

So, is this problem the monitor or the computer??

Sorry to be so dense....but thanks.......

seems that when your computer goes to sleep and then back - at wake time the monitor isn't getting the signal.

set your power options like these and just use a BLANK SCREEN for your screen saver

Definitely it is not your computer. When it was given the signal to go OFF, it did but like completely off.

Oh one more thing, if the monitor still exhibits same issue after setting your Power Options as displayed above,

check your warranty with that monitor and exercise it.

How do i fix a monitor that sometimes just turn off by itself and turn on after being cut of the elec. power?

There are settings for the sleep (power saving) modes that came with Windows updates.
Some of our monitors also shut off the power indicator light when they go to sleep.
Solution: Check the power saving settings in Windows.

Lg 1752s goes into power saving mode when pc is turned on

Hello Alan,

That is actually not power saving mode, the flashing power light indicates the power supply is not starting up correctly and keeps shutting down and trying again. This is a very common symptom of a failure of the capacitors on the power supply board. The L1752s uses the AIP0157 power supply board which is the same board the is used in several LG monitors such as the L196WTQ and L194WT. Here is a link to a repair guide for the L196WTQ that shows what capacitors to look for and replace on the power supply board to bring the unit back to life.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

My L194WT -SF WONT WORK NO POWER USED SAME POWER LEAD ON DIFFERENT MONITOR NO PROBLEM

Hello Steve,

The most common problem with the L194WT monitors is a failure of the power supply board. There are parts called capacitors that fail and can cause the issue you have. Sometimes the power light will just flash, sometimes it takes several minutes to display a picture or even a wavy picture, all of these issues indicate a failing power supply board. These boards can be repaired if you can do a little soldering. The L194WT uses the same power board as the L196WTQ and we have a step by step repair guide with dis-assembly instructions available at http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/lg-l196wtq-bf-lcd-monitor-repair/ Look over the guide and check your board to see if your capacitors have bulged and need to be replaced.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Can't switch on monitor screen

You must go into the BIOS of you computer and turn off the sleep mode and also in windows. Disconnect the monitor and power it on without hooking it up to the computer. If the monitor turn on and is working , then hook it up to the computer and try with with the sleep controls off to see if it works correctly. If this works you must check the owners manuals of the motherboard and monitor for the correct operation of the sleep mode functions. Then reinstall the sleep mode operation and see if everything works correctly. If the monitor fails to work. Try the monitor on another computer and see if it will function. If all this fails to get the monitor working , then you will need to have the monitor tested in a service center to find the problem and have it repaired. You should also check your computer on another monitor just to maker sure you don not have a problem with the computer too. Hope this helps you with your problem.
