My LCD panel only works when swizilling the panel forward as you do when recordning yourself. This makes it pretty useless to use in normal mode. Any ideas how to fix?

The micro switch at the joint is bad or the ribbon cable is loose. It has two functions - flip the video upside down so that you can do self recording to monitor and turn on the monitor when the panel is swung open. The switch is stuck in a middle state when you put it to normal. It needs to be taken apart and reseated correctly.

You need a new sony display flex cable installed in your camera.. it is a rather simple procedure.. dont let anyone tell you it is going to cost 300-500.00 to fix. the cable or flex that makes the display viewable is called a LCD display Flex. If you don't get any image on your display, the image has lines, display has no backlight or anything like that, replacing this flex cable should fix the problem. you can buy the flex cable on ebay for less than 30.00 and the fix is rather simple.. the display has the flex cable on the back side and there are 3 screws that holds the display on the camera body. when you take them out of the camera using a PH00 small screw driver, you can then take the flex cable out of the display and easily replace.. it doesnt take rocket science to take these out and replace them.. good luck.. remember... you can buy the flex cable that makes the display viewable and then when it is replaced you will then be back in business with your camera.. good day....David...Mt Holly, NC

Looking for Instruction Manual E377/E378 R/F Watch Having replaced Battery the LCD shows the correct time, date and month. But the pointers are 1hr8minutes fast

You don't say what make of watch you have but I think they work in a similar manner to mine, so try this.

Press the mode button (usually the lower left one) and observe the LCD screen. Each time you press the mode button the screen should change to a different setting mode. Keep pressing it until you find one that allows you to set the hands (on mine it is "HS"). Some experiment may be needed.

When you have found the setting you need, press the buttons on the right to move the hands forward or backward until the correct time is indicated.

When you finished, press the mode button until the normal timekeeping mode returned.

My nokia e71 has a total black screen, but sometimes display comes up but with just some fuzzy sceen nothing else phone is working but its just display should i but a new display and change it, or it is...

It sounds like their is a data ribbon (cable inside the phone) that has come lose if you are brave you can take the device apart by yourself and look for a lose flat brown cable between the screen and the main chip or you can take it to a shop it shouldn't cost much as no parts need to be replaces and it's pretty straight forward.

Computer Monitor is dim

mzsouthpole9, Yes, this sounds exactly like a SWITCH-MODE-POWER-SUPPLY problem, and/or INVERTER circuit problem. I have lucked out and repaired 3 lcd/fpd monitors with very similar/same complaint. Now here is what you are dealing with. Have you seen the new energy saving 'curlie-Q' screw-in Compact-Fluorescent light bulbs? Your lcd monitor needs white light to light-up all the pretty colors in the LCD panel. You are lucky. The SMPS in your unit is at least for now, supplying voltage to the digital processor board in your monitor. That's y u see an image on the screen. Because your Cold-Cathode-Fluorescent tubes (2ea) are not lighting-up, you now see what you see. this most likely is a SMPS failing to source voltage to the Inverter circuit which takes 12-20v dc and changes it to 800-1500v ac to light the thin, straight, horizontal (left to right) CCF TUBES. Here are your options as a consumer. Call viewsonic, see if they have a swapout program. You send them your's+$50-$90, and they send you a refurbished same model in return. Or try to find local TV/Monitor repair shop that knows forwards and backwards everything about CCF tubes and SMPS/INVERTER repair. Last thing is try to repair it yourself. Whatever you decide to do, please drop an email to me. I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ Hope this info was of some help. PS Put LCD/FPD in safe place to prevent damage to the most costly part. the LCD panel!!!!

I acccidently put my RCA 36" TV into FTP Lock mode and now it won't turn on. What to do?

Get your remote and turn the TV on and turn FTP lock off.  FTP is a program used so children can't use the TV panel so it makes the television useless. Pretty simple solution.

I have a canon SD 580. When I playback the video clip it's always in fast forward mode and I can't play it normal speed. Any help?

Make sure you are shooting your movies in "Standard" mode. If you have the mode set to something else, especially "Time Lapse", the playback may not match 'natural' motion.

In any case, you can control the speed of the playback. When you first enter the movie playback mode, there should be a movie control bar along the bottom of the LCD. Instead of the "Play" button, select the "Slow Motion Playback" button (single arrow with single bar next to the normal Play button), and control the speed with the left or right arrows on the multi-controller.

Factory mode on Mag Innovision LT776s 17 in

Sounds like one of 2 things.
  1. The internal bios of the monitor has failed and the monitor is pretty much wanting to know what to do. It is of course waiting to be programmed as it would have in the factory.
  2. Someone has knocked the front panel accidently pressing a combination of buttons to put it into factory mode. This is normally POWER + MENU held together when switching on. The only problem with this theory is after a power down, it should reset to nomal mode. It can be a different combination of buttons also, like AUTO and POWER or even all three together.

How to change lamp on Hitach 60vg825

Yes, you are due for a lamp. Save yourself some money by ordering just the bulb p/n UX21516 (instead of the whole lamp assy), install it yourself. There are lots of us that sell these bulbs far below what the assy costs. Make sure it is an OSRAM bulb though.

Canon Speedlite 550EX

I know you probably have already fixed the problem, but in case you didn't, or just to help others with the same problem:
This morning I connected my 550 EX to my camera and had the same issue with the info on the LCD flashing incessantly. Turned out to be the diffuser on top of the flash head, the one you pull out, then down over the flash to soften the light. If the diffuser is pulled out even two millimeters from its resting position, the LCD won't stop flashing! Just push it back in, and voila!
hope this can be of help
