ApprenticeHi larrry! Did you get your problem solved? I can suggest some things. I had the same problem and i got it fixed without it erasing my files or programs or anything of that sort.
First step first: If have the CD that came with and you just have to put it into your computer and just restart your computer. There are some steps you can go through that are really simple. These steps are on support.microsoft.com it really does help you out! Just go to that website and it should resolve ur problem, if not just let me know and i will be glad to help you!

Wizits very simple to open it when urs computer stsrt ommediatly press F8 for a while then ur computer shows fallowin wndow ...
it includes starting windows safemode, command prompt etc etc
select safe mood ur computer start automatically widout ny password then in safemode u can make other account in user account..
then can eaisly acess ur computer....
ask me if dere is ny other problem occurs..

if u r unable to start windows in safe mode ...u can try dis..
when password dailog box appears u press ctrl+alt+del at a same time twice or thrice then a new password dailog box open....
in it u type as
user:-administrator
password:-administrator
then press enter.....
u can acess ur computer.....
