Many Sthil chainsaws have replaceable bar studs. The stud threads into the case. Go here: http://www.baileysonline.com/itemdetail.asp?item=QA+0000+953+6605&catID=407
look for part by model number, usually no more than a few dollars. Enjoy

SOURCE: what is correct fuel mixture for Echo CS 6701

"Echo Power Blend Universal 2-Stroke Oil can be used in all of our 2-cycle air-cooled equipment ever made. You may also use this oil in any other brand of 2-cycle air cooled equipment, but it should always be mixed at the 50:1 ratio whether or not it was a 32:1 or 16:1 etc. machine. This oil is the highest quality 2-cycle oil on the market today. There is no need to have more than 1 tank of fuel for your 2-cycle equipment any more."
The above excerpt is from the Echo FAQs (6) here:
http://www.echo-usa.com/faqs/

Oil Mix Ratio:
The following ratios have been recommended for the last 10-15 years.
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
McCulloch, Poulan & Wen; recommend 40:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
Chinese chainsaws recommend 25:1.

Remove bar stud on echo chain saw. Cs 306 14 " bar

I don't quite understand the question but, If you are trying to remove the bar on your saw, First it should have come with a tool that looks like a screw driver on one end and, a wrench on the other end. Now!! turn the saw on its side with the Two Bolts facing you. You use the tool to loosen the bolts , just loosen !! next use the screwdriver end to turn the little screw inside the small hole just down from the bolts OK? Turn the screw , which loosen's the chain. Now take the bolts off and put them somewhere SAFE so you can find them when ready to put back on. Pull the plastic cover off , chain off, NOW YOU CAN REMOVE the BAR . I hope this is what you need.

The threaded sleeves for the studs that hold the guide bar are stripped. What can I do to repair them?

remove bad studs with stud extractor and replace with new ones ?? or maybe normal bolts ?? (if in engine housing )
or in a bind ive even rethreaded them to fine thread (assuming course was old thread) with a die and used std fine nuts on them as well .

if studs go in plastic case/frame then case needs to be disassembled and then studs press out other direction

What are the steps to replace a chain on a Husqvarna 345 chain saw?

Start by making sure the chain brake is off, pull the hand guard fully back to the top handle, now remove the two 8mm nuts securing the side cover, screw the chain adjuster in the crankcase fully back toward the sprocket, assemble the guide bar over the guide bar bolts and slide it fully back toward the sprocket, now loop the chain over the sprocket and lay it inthe guide bar raiuls and around the guide bar nose, make sure the sharo endge of the cutters on the top of the guide bar are facing away from the machine ( as you loog at it, it rotates clockwise ) now align the hole in the guide bar with the adjuster pawl, re assemble the chainbrake side cover back onto the saw, and fit the bar nuts finger tight, adjust the chain adjuster so as the chain is a snug fit all the way around the guide bar, with a gloved hand pull the chain around the bar manually, so as to make sure it is completly seated in the sprocket and bar rails, re tension if needed, hold the tip if the guide bar up and fully tighten the bar nuts.
Job done.

How would I replace the bar hold down stud bolt in my Stihl MS 310 chain saw? Thanks.

At our dealership we replace the Bar studs with Heli-Coil and locktite for $20.

NOTE: Remove the old stud by double-nutting and screwing out of the case and marking the end that came out. Take it with you to NAPA and get the correct Heli-Coil size and a small tube of BLUE Loctite. (Might be cheaper to let the Stihl dealer do it)
Hope this helps!
