Problem for Aspire Digital AD-8091 DVD Recorder

We just bought it and got the correct DVD- R's and when we put it in to record, it brings up a box that says " Change disk to record". We don't understand what this means, and it does not explain it any other way. Please help.

The Aspire AD-8091 requires DVD + R not DVD - R.
