Cannot print any document on MP620. I have troubleshot cleaned heads and everything else. Now all I get when I try to print a document that "printer is working on another issue" when it finally spits out another bunch of colored bars, printer stops and no document is printed. I unplugged and left it overnight. Problem persists. I have Dell with windows vista. bob

I reinstalled the MP620 drivers and the problem persists.
I was trying to print a document and pushed the black start button one time and the color start button a second time.
All that was printed in both runs was my email return address and that was printed in blue.
I also got a statement that "the printer is performing another operation".

I copied a color photo in black & white mode.

I did what you said [cleared print spooler and restarted computer]
BUT the printer will only print my email return address (blue type) and nothing else.

I also got the comment before it started on my document that "The printer is performing another operation" this resulted in spewing out a totally blank page and then it printed my email return address and nothing more.

    what next?

Bob,

Try to stop and restart the "Printer Spooler". Here's how:

Go to Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Services.

Locate and click the "Printer Spooler", then click on "Stop the service", and then "Restart the service".

If the same problem occur, try to uninstall the printer driver and download the latest driver that's compatible with your Vista computer, then install it.

Thank you and good luck!

Welcome to Fixya

You may try to reinstall the printer driver first then refresh the print spooler service of your computer. Here's the procedure on how to refresh the print spool service. Click start menu then type in to the start search bar services.msc. Scroll down on the right side panel and look for print spooler. Double click the print spool service then click STOP. Wait for 5 secs then click START. Restart the printer then try to print again.

All the best!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Printer's drivers/softwares? If not, give it a try. Uninstall the printer's drivers/softwares from the Control Panel's Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs). The printer should be disconnected while doing this. Also, connect the printer only when you are asked to do so. Let me know if the problem persists.

    Ok.. then try this..

First, unplug the printer's usb cable from the computer usb port.

    Click Start > Run

    Type services.msc and hit enter

    Locate "Print Spooler"

Right-click on the Print Spooler and then select "stop".

Now, open "My Computer" and Go to this path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS and delete everything inside the "PRINTERS" folder.

Restart your computer and again do the following :

    Click Start > Run

    Type services.msc and hit enter

    Locate "Print Spooler"

Right-click on it, i.e. Print Spooler and then select "Start".

[Note: Start > Run may be different in vista, Run should be the box with faded words "Start Search", the instructions are given as a whole for windows]

Reconnect the printer and try printing again.

Also, make sure the paper guide or the paper are properly installed, you can try moving the paper try to make sure it isn't stuck.

Let me know if this doesn't help to resolve the issue.

    All the best.

No cyan on photo

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

I keep getting an error message (B200) on my MP620. Any ideas about how to fix this?

Print head failure. All you can do is to remove the cartridges, flip up the securing lever and extract the print head assembly from the carrier then clean its contact and the pins on the carrier. If that doesn't fixes it then either the data ribbon cable that connects the carrier to the board or the processor are damaged. In both cases the repair will cost more than a new printer so it's time for a new one.

My canon Pixma MP620 wont print in black. All the other colors are fine. I've tried deep cleaning with no results..

Hi,
Try this;
- Open the document you want to print - Go to file > Print - click properties in the print window - in the menu select 'Maintenance' - in the 'Maintenance' click 'Ink Cartridge Settings' - select Black Only - click OK - click OK - now you can print only using the black ink in the printer.
Hope this helps.

My Canon MP620 is printing in pink (and a bit of orange) only. All cartridges are at least half full. The big black one is full as are the pink and cyan ones. How can I get the black to function again...

Use the CANON software on your computer to run some "printer maintenance", namely a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to unclog any blocked ink-jets that are _not_ shooting ink onto the paper.

My MP620 printer is all of a sudden not printing black, I have no idea why, there is still ink in the cartridge. Please help.

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.
