I have a Bosch WFVC3300UC washing machine. It keeps giving me an E13 error. I've checked the drain hose - no clogs. Curious as to what I might try next

Hi, unplug the machine for a few minutes. According to a repair guy, more and more appliances just need to be unplugged so to reboot the computer whenever they are acting funky.
All in all this should be the first thing you try when you have this issue before checking the drain hose....

Electrolux E13 error code

The "E13" error code on the WFMC series Bosch washer`s refer to a drainage problem as you may or may not already know. ( or in Bosch terms "pump time exceeded" ) What you may have is either a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE"/lo-sudsing detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle, or wires loose at the pump...the later being the least likely. You haven`t mentioned if you`ve checked the pump...just hoses as you did mention. Anyway, here`s the most likely way to remedy a E13 code. **Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs** Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say, hopefully you won't get wet. ( maybe you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain ) Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner) Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free. (the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves). Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a red ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks. Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first. Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this indeed solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.

I've got a bosch WFVC3300UC front load washing machine and it's recently started to leak from the bottom of the machine. I've checked the external hoses to the device and they are fine - the unit is...

you may have a hole in the bellow hose going to the pump from the tub, your unit is under manufactuer warranty for 1 year call them, you should not have to pay for this, also you may want to check the drain hose at the wall it could have popped out or you may have a clogged drain it's hard to say but check that out first if thats all ok then call Bosch customer service .

Will not drain

Hello, Welcome to FixYa. You've stated that the drain hose has been checked, have you also inspected inside the drain pump ? Does the unit display any error code, i.e. E13 or E04 etc ? Also if you could varify the unit is indeed a WFMC6400 before going much further it will save on potential mis-information...its best to be clear from afar. I'll watch for your reply so we can move towards a solution for you. macmarkus :)

Error code E:13 on my 500 plus series washer

Hi,
The E13 error code on your Bosch washer refer to a drainage problem or the pump time might have been exceeded
Either it might be due to a clogged pump, improper detergent being used, ( must use "HE" detergent ) hence suds not allowing a proper drain cycle. You should clean water drainage pipe and/or drain hose. Turn selector to off and restart 'drain, program or, on 500 plus machines, the 'refresh' program. It also says this is caused by using too much detergent. Bosch recommends using half of what the manufacturer recommends when using HE detergents. They don't recommend regular detergents. First run the short wash or refresh cycle without detergent and hopefully your lines will clear.

Thank you !!

MY WASHER DISPLAYS E13 AND IT WONT DRAIN

Hi,
E-13 error code is a drain timeout code. This means the pump has run a certian amount of time without fully draining itself. This could be anything from a clogged drainline in your home to a clogged drainline in the machine, your pump is clogged, pump is burned up, no power to the pumpetc. Most of the time its either something jammed in the pump, or its burned up (from something being jammed in it). If your model has a filter on the front of the machine, put down plenty of towels and slowly undo the filter. Water will come out. Check to see if its blocked or if the outlet hose is blocked.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Washer not draining and rinsing

Hello Wet Towels, well to be honest outside of the test program I have never seen a fault code E13. If it was an error E03 I would check my water to make sure it was turned on, the cold inlet hose wasn't pinched, or debre filling the filter screens in the hose or water valve. That is what the care and use says about E03. In the back of your owners manual it tells you what the fault means and how to correct it. If this doesn't work call for service to resolve your issue. Hope this helps.

Code E13

For a Bosch washing machine, Error 13 is pumping time exceeded. So, in general, the issue is pump related. Things to check would be if the pump is blocked (it can be cleaned out if you can get the service door in the front panel off), check the wiring connections to the pump, and check the drain hose to make sure it is not blocked.
