Question about GE Refrigerators
Since you can hear the solenoid clicking on and off, it is not likely an electrical problem with the switch or associated wiring and solenoid valve - that's good.
Many fridges have a water filter that requires regular replacement. If yours has been installed for a while, it may be overdue. Remove and replace the filter and try again.
If you have recently pulled the fridge out from its "normal" position in your kitchen, it is very possible that the flexible water supply tube has been crushed or kinked when it was pushed back into its normal position. You'll have to pull it out again to inspect and replace the tube if found to be damaged for it to work normally again.
Fridges that have water and / or ice service receive water from a small diameter (1/4") flexible copper or plastic tube. Many times, the tube is connected to a valve that is designed to wrap around an exposed cold water pipe that is normally found under the kitchen sink. It may also be connected to a normal sized shut of valve by a plumber in anticipation of a fridge like yours, too. If you have the wrap around style valve assembly, the knob on the valve is used to both puncture the pipe during installation and later to turn the water supply on and off to the fridge. The hole made in the pipe is fairly small, and depending on how "hard" your water is, may have become clogged. You'll want to shut off the water that supplies the valve so that you can inspect it, clean or replace it completely without getting soaked.
These are the most common problems - but there are others. Hopefully, one of these will be the issue and it will work again. Good luck!
