Must be replaced - taking player apart will cause damage, so usb port cannot be repaired/replaced (plus specific components are not orderable).

There may be two reasons why the iPod will not charge.
1-the charging port may need to be replaced, look into where you hook up and see if there is any damage to the prongs within. There are very fine connections that lay on a hard plastic stub (charging port) if any pins are bent; out of place; or missing the connection would not be possible and will not get charged
2-the battery may need to be replaced. The battery sometimes dies and unable to recharge if you've allowed the battery to be exhausted completely before charging it.

The pins on the USB (small) port are bent. Can this be fixed?

You can try bending them back into place with a pair of needle-nose pliers. Be careful not to completely break them.

My nano hang!

If your ipod just hangs, have you tried doing a reset by holding the menu and middle buttons?

If that doesn't work, before you connect it to your laptop, make sure that you have the latest iTunes loaded on your laptop.

Hold the menu and middle buttons until the screen goes black and then quickly hold the middle and play/pause button until you see a checkmark and the words disk mode. Now connect it to your computer and do a restore.

If it doesn't check the connector at the bottom. You may have some bent pins in the connector at the bottom. Unfortunately, that will cause communication problems with the computer and ipod. Hope that helps.

İpod nano not seen at explorer and itunes

- check the cable - check the connections on the bottom of the ipod for bent pins, or dirt - make sure ipod battery is fully charged - if you have all your library backed up, reset ipod to factory. You will lost all settings etc. though. - check usb ports are working properly with no conflicts or driver issues (control panel\system\hardware\device manager) - uninstall usb ports on pc, let pc redetect them
