There a few ways to handle a corrupted file. You can manually delete all the songs, and inspect the id3 tags to see if you can isolate the corrupt file (long and tedious approach). You can upgrade the firmware on the player, which will result in all songs being deleted, and missing files being revised/added in some cases (I would recommend this approach, but it is not a guaranteed fix). You could also format the player, which will delete all songs and resolve the corruption at least temporarily (but this carries a risk - you may end up deleting critical files, which may or may not be able to re-added later). The choice is yours - good luck!

How do i git it off from rca mp3 player

Hi william malley

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BIG WARNING: DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
ONE MORE BIG WARNING: BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Please take time to rate me

Delete more than 4.omb

I think the problem is that you deleted one of the syst. file on the RCA Lyra.. These are the files you need to have in order to make the mp3 player work.

Setting.dat
Music.sec
Time.dat
music.lib

and the 4 folders (Voice) (line-in) (FM) (audible)

Will not turn on but battery is new

Is it possible you deleted system files along with other files by mistake? It's a very common problem, and it would be good to know what causes this since some people say its because the Lyra allows you to delete system files which screws the device. I heard of someone that called Thomson helpline with this problem and got his replaced, so it wouldn't hurt to try. RCA has this page on the problem: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/Cultures/en... It might help... And there's this program that is said to help with the formatting, get it here along with some instructions: http://www.techolio.com/rd2780_upgrade/ Good luck!
