Monitor shaking problem but dont think its the monitor!

My monitor has been shaking for the past week or so and I cannot get it to stop. I've tried numerous of things.. I updated my video card driver, I checked all the cables to make sure they are not damaged and plugged in correctly, I've changed the resolution on the display, it cant be the wiring in my apartment because all the other computers work perfectly fine. I even tried switching monitors with my roommates' and while it works fine with their computers, it still shakes with mine!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!! I have an Emprex LCD monitor and I've tried using a different one also, a KDS.

If both monitors are shaking, problem is with video card or motherboard, you might try loading specific drivers for your video card or try changib=ng refresh rates.

For the past few weeks my Hanns G 19 inch LCD monitor keeps having troubles displaying a screen. It constantly makes a loud sound that it repeats and it takes several hours before the green light appears...

From the description you give, this sounds like a failure in the circuit board, normally the capacitors go and the thing refuses to power up, however, the fact it defaulted to a low resolution indicates that the actual board is in some way failing, possibly a damaged circuit, or component.

I would think it could be repaired and it may be a simple job for someone who can identify the failing component, however, I think that the cost of getting it repaired would outweigh the cost of replacement

My monitor syncmaster931b for a perior of time now when activating the modem will black out....NO PICTURE..I have to turn it off and on at times for it to stay on. What does this mean??

I dont quite understand your question... You say that you have a MONITOR that blacks out (black screen) when you turn on your MODEM???? what kind of modem you have??? ar the monitor and the modem connected in the same power plug???

If correct than the ownly thing i can think of is that the MODEM is to close to the MONITOR, i've seen a cellular phone make a monitor's pcture shake when it was to close to it... (that was back in the time of CRT monitors) not LCD... anny way you could also try plugging them in separate power receptacles...

Sorry that's all i have...

A MESSAGE KEEPS POPPING UP ON MY SCREEN AUTO CONFIG HOW DO I STOP IT

Think I fixed it.. My monitor kept flashing autoconfig and shaking a little, so I went to control panel - clicked on system - clicked Hardware - clicked on device manager - clicked display adapters - and updated the driver. Re-booted computer..
So far so good... Fingers Crossed..

Problem with powering the monitor up. It just flicks off.

The operating system would not stop it from powering on.
It should power on even if disconnected from a computer.
You are probably in need of having the powerboard redone. Possibly a failing inverter.
If you know how to take it apart and can get some pictures to me at bammbamm@ptd.net , I may be able to see the problem.

Monitor screen shaking and flickering

Check to make sure the cables are connected tightly. Wiggle the cable, does it get better or worse? Might need a new cable. And reseat the video card inside the computer. If that doesn't fix it, then yes you will probably need a new monitor.

If you have another computer handy....hook the monitor up to it to see if the problem remains, if it does not you might want to focus on the video card.
