Question about Computers & Internet
If you just want to put the video on a disc that will be played on a computer, you can simply copy the video file onto a disc as data. Windows has basic disc burning capability built in, but other applications give you more features. I use CDBurnerXP, which is free. Another free burner is InfraRecorder. Also, many computers come with versions of programs like Nero or Roxio preloaded. With one of these programs, you pick the "create a data disc" option, drag the video file into the appropriate window, tell the program to burn the disc, and you're done. Again, this would only play on a computer using a player like Windows Media Player, WinAmp or VLC.
If you are looking to make a DVD that would play on a regular DVD player, life is a little tougher. This is especially true if you want to add any features to the DVD like menus. You need a DVD authoring application for this, and the really easy-to-use ones are commercial versions that aren't cheap. There is a good, free program called DVDStyler that I use. It's a bit tough at first because the documentation is weak, but there are several YouTube videos and other sites that can help. The program lets you make your own menus, add background pictures and music, converts the video files to the format needed to make a DVD, and allows you to preview the disc before you actually burn it. The result, though, is a DVD that works like the ones you buy at the store.
Hope this helps get you started. Thanks for using Fixya!
