Question about Canon PIXMA MP600 all-In-One InkJet Printer
Simple test to confirm the origin of the problem: disconnect all the cables except the power one, make sure the pc is closed and no memory cards are inserted then try to start the printer. If the printer doesn't start at all then the printer itself has a hardware defect.
The only thing you can check is the power pack: it's at the bottom of the printer, the power cable plugs in it. Take it out by unscrewing the 2 security screws, plug the power cable in it and in a mains socket then verify the voltage at the output contacts with a voltmeter. If no voltage is present then the power pack is dead and must be replaced. If the power pack is active then the printer itself is defective. In that case it will be more economically sound just to replace the printer - fixing it will cost you almost as much as a new one.
