Hi,

"Card Protected" Means that your memory card is set locked. Take the memory card out of your camera and on the side of it there should be a part that moves up and down. Move it to the opposite direction and see if it works.

Why were you furious at me.I have told you what the obvious solution is. Since the unlock function on the card is not working the write protect latch may be damaged and you have to get another card. If it still does not work then let me know. I am sure it will.

SD and Micro SD memory cards has a small slide switch on the edge of the card, which write protects data on the memory card or add photos to the SD card. Slide the switch from the LOCK position to the UNLOCK position, which is furthest away from the contacts.

My canon 450D does not recognise my memory card

Your laptop uses a different FAT than your camera. Once you formatted it on your laptop it will never work in you camera - unless you have one of the expensive image recovery programs that allow you to reformat it for the camera.

It says card write protected. I can not delete photos.

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Hi,

Check if the card is truly write protected (check the little slider on the SD card). Its possible it slid into lock position accidentally

NEW Canon EOS 450D display not working

The memory card must be in it. If you take a picture without the card in it, it will show for a few seconds then go black. There must be a memory card in order to save the pictures.

How do I remove the "card write protected" message from my camera, I cannot use it?

Hello,
You need to remove the memory card from your camera. And then look for the small switch on one of the sides. you need to move it the other way around to remove the write protect lock.
Let me know how it goes.
