Motor humming but drive shaft not moving

I would suspect either the starting capacitor on the motor or worst case the motor itself. The capacitors are a fairly common item to fail while the motors are uncommon. Expect a new motor to be extremely expensive.

I have used my 10 cup processor one time and now when I turn it on , you hear the motor but the blade doesn't turn

With the machine UNPLUGGED disassemble and check to see if the drive mechanism is engaged. Could be as simple as a loose screw in the coupling assembly. I no longer have my unit.. I tossed it in the trash and sent Sears a nasty letter.

I can't get it to work and can't find the manuals anywhere.

Often the problem when these will not run is that the safety switch is not being closed. Often rotating the cover will cause a prong to depress a rod thaat actuates the safety switch. Explore the unit to look for such an interlock. I can almost guarantee that it is there someplace. Occasionally the prong that actuates it gets broken or worn.

I have used my Kenmore food processor MAYBE 10 times. Yesterday I turned it on, lights came on but the motor just hums. Is my only choice to buy a new one? Because it sure won't be from Sears, if so.

I have the same problem with mine. It is almost certainly the motor start capacitor. I have been looking for a replacement capacitor from an outside source, but so far have had no luck. The capacitor used is an obscure size and model. I have found the manufacturer of the capacitor, but no electronic suppliers carry this brand. It is almost certainly going to be a Sears replacement part item.
