If this is an electric saw as the title says the only oil you put in it is bar oil. This is a thick oil to lubricate the chain and bar. If it is a gas powered saw you will need to mix the gas with 2 cycle oil.
You need to use bar & chain oil. It's thicker and stickier that regular oil so it will stay on the bar and chain and not run out of the saw when you are done using it.
I have been using regular chainsaw oil and I think it works ok. I inherited one of these and would like to find a spare chain and also a manual. Can you give me any info? Thanks
Tim

They are no longer in production and replacement parts are almost exhausted. If your parts are NLA; try an Internet search for "Remington YourPartNumber". We can do no more. Good luck Lou Please do not punish my rating because you are unhappy with Remington. I provided a very helpful answer, just not the one you wanted to hear.
I suspect you did an on line search, we can do no better. Remington has ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. It might be advisable to save the money you would expend for parts and put it toward the purchase of a new electric saw.
Poulan has been in business a very long time and offers 8 different models. Some can be found at Lowes. HTH

Sooner or later you will encounter a part that isn't available for your Remington. Yours may be worth more as parts than as a complete assembly. eBay?
While Bar Chain oil will probably work, the owners manual (sitting in front of me) on page 9 says to "use SAE #30 motor oil". This is the owners manual for Models: M12510US, M15012US, M15014US, M15014AS, M30016US, M30016AS, M30016AW, M35016UW, M35016AW. Remington Electric Chain Saw
