Dropped calls ,Cannot find base

My phone is not locationg the base and when it does it will talk maybe 5 sec and drop the call and say out of range. And this is standing in front of the base. My phone is located next to a Cable modem for my telephone service. Any ideas ? I have already done the battery swapping and powering on and off a dozen times with no improvments. Could this be coming from interfernce from my modems ?

Searching for base is a major issue with this phone. Buyers beware. It drops calls continuously and states searching for base. the phone is not near any electrical equipment.

My phone has just started to do this over the last month. I will be talking, and all of a sudden, it's "call dropped, out of range" or "cannot find base". The screen goes blank, resets, and it says "found base". However, I still cannot use that handset for hours, as it will not connect to the line. I have to switch the handsets around. Of course, this has happened at the WORST times, while on calls with customer service, airlines, employers, passport agency, international calls, etc. My handsets are all taped now. They've experienced a difficulty of their own - me. One positive, though, I have beat them to death and they still work.

Had the same problem and replaced the battery. budgetbatteries.com had the cheapest ones. But it's a knockoff, so I don't know how long it will last. So far it's been 3 months and the problems are gone. I would try that first and see how it goes. I paid about $15 including shipping. If you buy it from vtech it's at least double...

I have a Uniden phone with Cable phone service. Sitting right beside the base set, I get the message that I am too far away. Solutions?

Unfortunately the Unidens have a problem with batteries. Leaving it on the base for a long time without discharging it can lower the lifespan of a battery.

But your problem is that the it lost connections with your service provider. Turn off everything by unplugging the power only from all the devices. Turn on just your cable phone service box first and give it 5 minutes to connect. Then power on the phone. If you still have issues, you need to contact your phone service provider to make sure the box is connection.

Hi.

The calls are being placed on waiting, try using Flash button before using Talk.

Test the chance on a different phone line , the most likely is that the phone is defective.

If the phone is working on a different line, then it is a configuration problem, and the phone is waiting for a manual call transfer from a different phone in your network.

Try using Flash button instead of Talk, this will answer the call if there is a waiting service programmed.

Try testing with no other phone connected.

Finally try resetting the phone, use procedure below:

  • 1. Make sure the phone power is ON (but not in the “talk” mode by pressing the PWR button.
  • 2. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the main menu until Handset setup is flashing.
  • 3. Press the SELECT button. A second menu shows on the display.
  • 4. Use the arrow buttons to scroll to Reset phone.
  • 5. Press SELECT.
  • 6. Use the arrow buttons to change NO to YES.
  • 7. Press SELECT to confirm.

If after resetting the calls are still being placed on hold, then again, the phone may be faulty.

Here a manual for your phone.

Panasonic KX TG9331 no link to base Even standing next to the base, I cannot answer the call. Sometimes repeated pressing of the talk button lets me talk. Also, switching to speaker phone sometimes drops...

Sounds like a defective handset or base unit. Unplug the base unit from power and the telephone jack. Leave unplugged for 1 minute, this sometimes helps the phone to reset from a problem. Unplug the battery from the handset and plug back in after a minute also to help reset. Place your handset in the base unit for about 1 minute to allow the handset to link up with the base unit. If this doesn't work you may have a defective phone. Contact Panasonic support for further information if this does not work.

I am having problem with my cordless phone.

Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

5808 drops call and starts searching for base

Got a wireless router? Change channels on the router off Ch6, the default channel and that may help your phone communication to the base station. I have had wireless phone customers lose their wifi when their phone rings, same frequency or intereference on that frequency.
