This is a CRT projection tv - one in which the image is generated by 3 small tubes. There is nothing you can clean on it apart the dust that gets in every tv. The problem of your tv is caused by a badly done adjustment of the voltage on the accelerating and focus grills of the cathode tubes. It's actually a very simple problem to fix - all you need to do is to adjust the right potentiometer from the flyback transformer a little to the left to lower the voltage on the accelerating grill and a little to the right to raise it on the focus one - a 5 minute job. The problem is the fact that on this transformer there are 25,000 volts that arc very easily if you go near it blindly with any metal object; and that arc can easily kill a person with heart problems. If you haven't done this before and you have no idea how to adjust it then just call someone who does.

We have a Mitsubishi VS-50VA2 projection tv. The picture is very dim and the color is faded. Even after adjusting the brightness to the max, it is still dim. What do I need to do to fix this?

you need to clean the dust off lamps and the guns, if you don't know how. i can walk you thru it. but i would suggest having a repair shop do a full cleaning.

My TV is blurry. I can't read the words on the screen. I tried to go to menu in attempt to adjust the settings. I don't know if it is a resolution or a color problem. Is there concrete solution to...

after 4 or 5 yrs EHT ( transformer that supplies voltage to CRT TUBE - TV TUBE ) becomes weak - then 1 of the indication is ....picture becomes dull...blurr... (less brightness & less contrast , no clarity ) ........so solution is EHT ( also called as flyback transformer ) should be replaced....... {{ few details about EHT---- its size will be around 3inch X 2inch X 2inch ---it will have 2 or 3 knobs to adjust focus , brightness ------ at bottom around 10 pins will be there ------- from EHT 1 thick red colour cable goes to CRT TUBE --------- on EHT its part number will be there }} -------- so if user is a technical person having idea about components ( resistors, transistors, diodes, etc ) , having tools like multimeter ( to check components) , soldering iron, soldering lead, flux, desoldering wig ( for removing components), etc also little experience in servicing field( compulsory) ----------------- then user can remove EHT from main board ---- take to electronic shop ----- buy same type EHT --------- fix to mainboard ( knobs on EHT should be adjusted according to picture after switching TV --- this adjustment is very important ) ---------- iam from bangalore ----- here EHT's price will be around Rs 250 ( US $ 6 ) & for my customers (in bangalore) i will take another Rs 500 (US $ 11) as service charge......i don't have any idea about EHT ' s price & service charge in your place.........since it is very risky job i suggest to contact good TV service engineer ------- because they are highly experienced & can fix this component very easily ( or if any of your friend who is in servicing line can do this ) - 100% GUARANTEE again your TV works normally - GUARANTEE

Hi, we have a ps3 we play Black Ops on. Its connected to a Sony Trinitron tv w/composite cables. Lately, the picture has been very hazy and dark, no bright colors like it used to be. Its hard to see where...

green sounds like a TV problem if persists with other games could be TV but im kinda thinking it is ingame settings occasionally updates can reset picture settings in the game i think for black ops it had some kind of adjust brightness until you can't see this object in background and sometimes it helps to go back and check that only other explanation would be you went to different resolution ex: 480, 720(hi def), 1080(highest high def)

Turned on tv and it looked like 3d. Found red horizontal convergence lines extremely bowed. Cannot correct with magic focus either in auto or manual. What is the fix and what is more cost effective ......

TAKE OFF THE FRONT PANEL AND FIND THE FOCAS ELECTRONIC FOCAS CONTROLS. USUALY BETWEEN THE LEFT SPEAKER AND THE FIRST CRT GUN. PAUSE A DVD WHEN THE CREDITS GOING. OR USE A MENU IN YOUR SAT RECEIVER TO LOOK AT. USEING THE GRID IN THE TV SOMTIMES IS NOT ACCURATE. YOU WILL SEE 6 SMALL KNOBS (RED,GREEN,BLUE)FOCUS AND(RED,GREEN,BLUE)SCREEN DRIVE .FOLLOW THESE STEPS 1 TURNDOWN RED AND BLUE SCREENDRIVE 2 FOCUS THE GREEN (YOU SHOULD SEE SCANLINES) 3 TURN DOWN THE GREEN SCREENDRIVE 4 TURN UP THE RED SD UNTILL YOU SEE RETRACE LINES THEN BACK IT OFF TILL THEY ARE GONE. 5 FOCUS RED (UNTILL YOU SEE SCANLINES) 6 TURN RED DOWN AND TURN UP BLUE 7 FOCUS BLUE (BLUE WILL NOT BE AS GOOD AS RED+GREEN NOW YOU ARE IN FOCUS, NOW YOU NEED TO GET SCREENDRIVE BACK THE BEST WAY IS TO, PAUSE A DVD ON A BLACK SCREEN SELECT PLAY MOVIE AND HIT PAUSE RIGHT AFTER . TURN ALL THE LIGHTS OFF IN THE ROOM AND USE A SMALL FLASHLIGHT TO ADJUST SCREENDRIVE SO YOU DONT MOVE FOCAS BY MISTAKE. THE TRICK IS TO END UP WITH A VERY FAINT GRAY SCREEN WITH EACH COLOR UP AS FAR AS YOU CAN WITHOUT SEEING ANY COLOR ON THE TV. WHEN YOU GET THIS TRY PLAYING THE MOVIE. MAKE SURE THE BRIGHTNESS AND CONTRAST IN THE TV ARE AT A NORMAL LEVEL BEFORE YOU START . COLOR,BRIGHTNESS,AND FOCUS IS NOW SET TO YOUR DVD PLAYER.DO A FINAL CONVERGANCE AND YOU ARE DONE!
IF YOU CAN'T GET A COLOR TO FOCUS YOU MAY HAVE TO DO THIS MANUALY. SOME TV'S YOU CAN LOOSEN THE NUT ON THE CRT LENS AND MANUALY FOCUS IT. (LIKE AN OLD CAMERA). IF YOU GET THIS FAR YOU MIGHT AS WELL CLEAN THE LENS WITH A VINEGER BASED GLASS CLEANER (SPRAY THE RAG NOT THE TV) TAKE A LOOK AT THE MIROR, CLEAN IF NEEDED. IF THE MIRROR IS REAL DIRTY THEN THE SCREEN MUST BE BAD TOO.TAKE THE SCREEN OFF AND CLEAN THE BACK SIDE IF NEEDED. LOOK INTO THE LENS AT THE PICTURE TUBE YOU SHOULD SEE A NICE BRIGHT CLEAN PICTURE IF IT LOOKS CLOUDY YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE LIQUID IN THE CRT GUNS.I DON,T THINK YOU WAN'T TO TRY THIS YOURSELF. TIP(I USE A LITTLE ARMOR ALL WHEN I CLEAN LENES, THIS REPELS DUST LIKE IN YOUR CAR) IF YOU CHANGE YOUR FLUID AND WANT TO KNOW WHERE TO GET NEW FLUID I PUT CLEAR ANTIFREEZE IN MY PIONEER TV 3YEARS AGO AND STILL LOOKS GREAT "NOT KIDING" HOPE ALL THIS YOU. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE TO DO IT. HAVE IR SERVICE. REPAIRING THIS WILL BE YOUR BEST OPTION>THANKS

The images produces on my web cam are blurr and can't be viewed. if you pass an object infront of it you just see a shadow.

most webcams have a focus ring on the front of them, try adjusting that ring, turn clockwise and counterclockwise to adjust focal point, the other thing may be the brightness setting in the control panel for the camera, open control panel , look for "cameras" locate your webcam icon , then look under properties. There should be settings for contrast.. brightness. color ect.

Try setting the white balance. This problem my be as simple as the coloring being off a little bit. Try setting the white balance on one push to a bright color and see if that helps at all.

you need to change the coolant in the CRTs. Thats a common problem with the blue and green CRT in phillips magnavox rear projectionsIt makes the color and clarity as good as new after the coolant has been changed. If you need more info let me know, as there is a kit that has the coolant for all 3 tubes and CD with the step by step instructions with pictures available.
