Question about HP Compaq DC7900 PC Desktop
> 5 beeps
Something is wrong with some of the hardware.
If there is an add-in video-card, make sure that it is correctly "seated" into its slot on the motherboard. It's best to completely remove the card, and then re-insert it.
Similarly, check that the RAM is properly "seated".
If you have more than one stick of RAM on the motherboard, remove some of the sticks, until there is only one stick still connected, and try again.
If there is only one stick of RAM, remove it, and borrow a stick of RAM from a friend, and try it.
Beyond that, take your computer to a computer-store, for professional trouble-shooting.
