When talking on side band, they need to tune you in on their end.

Is the radio transmitting and receiving correctly? Did someone tune or peak it recently? It could be a bad counter or just a bad ground.

What band position do i need to talk on cb channels

Here's a handy, printable frequency chart for this radio. Band "E" contains the Citizen's Band Frequencies. "Band E" in "AM mode" is the only legal settings to transmit this radio in the USA.

Important: Several other "settings" may also give the FCC to inquire about your operation if caught. Additionally, this radio is an "Export" model - meaning not intended for sale in the USA. The extra frequencies, FM mode and some other features along with the 8 watt transmit power ability; all contribute to a radio that is not permitted to be sold or used on these frequencies in the USA.

I hope this was helpful & good luck!

I WANT TO BUY A GALAXY 2547 CB RADIO. I FOUND ONE AND IT SAYS EXPORT USE ONLY . WHAT DOES IT MEAN, CAN I USE IT. THANKS

Normally, this radio will only work on CB frequencies. I suspect the radio has been modified to get channels below and above the regular 40. If so, the radio is no longer type-accepted by FCC. It is unlikely you would get into trouble using the radio.

DX 2547 Only transmitting at 1 watt and swinging backwards on the power on high side from 4 watts to 1 watt.

Check the SWR reading on your antenna. If you have the wrong adjustment here, it is like having the wrong antenna, or none at all. You will need a SWR Meter, and somebody who knows what he/she is doing to help you.

I have a galaxy 2547 and it is stuck on freq 27.850 is there a controler board or something that good have shorted out?

There is a board inside that Galaxy radio called a PCB board. When they go bad they freeze on the frequency they are on. Replace that board and this should take care of the problem. I trust Maycomm Communications for all my Galaxy repair parts needs. http://maycomcomm.com/

Galaxy 99 has same frequency 27.185 on am also on upper side and lower side band how come?? thank you

The frequency doesn't change when you change to USB or LSB. Basically the AM frequency takes up a certain amount of space, known as bandwidth, so it could fill in for example use 50 hertz above and below 27.185 giving 100 hertz bandwidth. When you use sidebands the am bandwidth is split in two so the upper side band would use the 50 hertz above 27.185 and the lower side band would use the 50 hertz below. The idea is that twice as many operators can operate without interference.

Sideband freq

That is wrong , I used to have a freq. counter that only read when you applied RF to it on my old Tempo rig and I ran lower 37 and upper 35 so I would key the radio on am and tune the vfo to that frequency and would be on frequency with everone else,I remember hearing that once long ago but it's not true.
